what of little men
rescued from the deepest dark
...are they grown up now?
did they learn to swim past fears?

All 12 rescued and their coach
I never learned the proper way
To swim, and so my form
(With head above the water)
Is quite different from the norm.
I don't enjoy it anyway
And rarely hit a pool,
Preferring other exercise
And A/C to keep cool.
But watching the Olympians
Torpedo in their lanes
Makes me marvel at such effort
Which both awes and entertains.
Every sport has its attractions
Yet each breaststroke somehow brings
All observers (me included)
Right into the swim of things.
