Swimmers

I never learned the proper way
To swim, and so my form
(With head above the water)
Is quite different from the norm.

I don't enjoy it anyway
And rarely hit a pool,
Preferring other exercise
And A/C to keep cool.

But watching the Olympians
Torpedo in their lanes
Makes me marvel at such effort
Which both awes and entertains.

Every sport has its attractions
Yet each breaststroke somehow brings
All observers (me included)
Right into the swim of things.

I like the last line for an ending and you led to it well. Trevor

What a lovely fin poem Ilene:-) I'm really enjoying the Olympics and marvel at the swimmers and divers. I nearly drowned when i was 6/7 so have a fear of deep water and I swim like a stone lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Another really fun read, Ilene. I was once a lifeguard, so I used to swim really well. I can still but I'm out of shape. Looks like you are really enjoying the Olympics. Me too!
