Premium MemberMeet Me at the Freshet

Meet me at the freshet
   Where there is a gathering -
A swath of pilgrims wait
   For to find eternity -

Where there flows an old hope
   And God's love is evergreen -
Where His deeds are retold
   Of which move our hearts to sing.

Bind His words to your mind;
   Let them be our canopy.
We will uphold in time
   These truths to the enemy

And then Christ will steal us
   To a place of victory -
Forever loved and thus
   Forevermore we will be!

Premium MemberColor My Small World -

Color my small world -
   Oh, fair Yeshua -
With a streak of globe mallow
   Inside a rocky draw

And the morning calm
   Of bergamot and lupine -
So I can stop time
   And set my gaze upon them -

And a swath of poppies
   Glowing in the sun
And a glint in the breeze
   As if to show Your love.

I'll go and walk about
   The garden variety -
Knowing that this niche
   Is where I want to be.

Blush of the Blossoms

I cherished time walking through Cherry Blossoms,
And when it is to turn pink, it’s mind-blowing.
It’s like a pink rug situated on both sides in Kyoto,
Experiencing the Promised Land while having Cotto.

I love observing the farmland plowing,
The fields appreciate him by bowing.

I am dismayed at the strangers who see me trespass,
Imagine them complaining so fast to the gran who owes the meadow.
Envisioning her catching me while I'm passing through her swath,
She solicits me if I'm trying to display this as my path.

Visualizing my agitation after I get busted,
Then the old wrinkled gran will make me entrusted.
For sure assign me to babysit the offspring,
I’ve to make him feel like a king,
Oh God! I cannot envisage it!

In the realm of serenity

When life in the city becomes too much to bear
When I am overwhelmed by a sense
of hopelessness and unrelenting stress—
The cacophony of city streets,
A mish mash of jarring sounds
cars whizzing by, horns blaring,
Ambulance wails in a distance
Buses moan and screech
Clickety-Clack of the overhead
 “L” trains rumbling by
The din, the clamor, the ruckus,
the racket, rattle and roar
The street musicians
Dogs barking furiously down the lane
The chatter at the roadside vendors,
Oh, the babel of voices, the drunken brawls,

I retreat into the arms of nature.

Away from this chaotic world,
Alone, just by myself,
in the serene solitude of seclusion,
Wrapped up in a swath of silence
in this solemn dusk
I am at peace with myself
Among towering trees and splendorous falls
With its gushing streams and magnificent mountains,
The verdant fields and emerald green valleys
with rivers meandering down through
rolling hills and lush plains…

Soothe my insatiable craving for quietude.

The Mountains

The mountains roll, the mountains ride,
they cut a swath across the sky;
the mountains rise, the mountains drop,
if dirt gets going, it don’t stop;
the mountains loom, the mountains bock,
amongst their valleys, you are locked;
the mountains breathe, the mountains blow,
funnel storms to the lands below;
the mountains gleam, the mountains stun,
and glow within the morning sun;
the mountains crack, the mountains church,
when beneath them earth’s fires burn;
the mountains chill, the mountains freeze,
critters come down to seek relief;
the mountains stand, the mountains stay...
for this man’s lifetime, anyway.

                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We saunter, obsessed, under the alabaster,
In gloomy hours, a melodic whisper fills the air.
The setting sun whispers a story of twilight,
Lake's ethereal stillness reflects the soul.
A symphony of feelings, a rhythm of the soul,
As the moon scintilla adorns night with gold.
A night where truths and dreams intertwine,
A sempiternal sky whispered a lullaby.
We find solace in the stillness of night,
A tranquil respite amid life's fraught storm.
A swath of serene silence, an alabaster sky,
An opportunity to inhale, to sense, to sway.
Water is a reflection of our inner musings,
It is a mirror of starry night's fascination.
A fleeting glimpse, an ember of honesty,
We are alone in the silence of night.
So let us stroll, engulfed in alabaster.
Night dimness softly murmurs and exhales.
We find our solace in stillness of night.
In azure waters, our most sincere beings.
A winged mermaid blossoms,
awash with marine snow ~
Poseidon's ocean-pearl,
breathing jasmine sirens
as iced eyelashes curl...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
when fish-angels ache for
arctic apricity,
and glacial nymphs carve a
cruel felicity...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
as strawberry conch shells,
drape the neon sea-star ~
my minty sun trembles,
and sheds its sherbet scar...
A winged mermaid blossoms,
hearts of manta rays swath
with love's ivory rose -
unfurling aqua kins,
that ruby thorns unfroze...
A Swath of Gold
A gleaming swath of gold appears
When I look down below.
From here, not one thing interferes
With Nature’s autumn show.
For down 9 stories, there are trees
With dazzling yellow leaves,
Though there are never guarantees,
Despite what one believes,
That year to year that lovely view
Will be exactly thus,
Since sometimes when a storm’s a‘brew,
There’s nothing to discuss.
When wind and rain join forces, they
May strip those branches bare
And we don’t have the slightest say
To keep that yellow there.
Yet this time, we’ve been sent a gift,
For every window glance
Gives me a cause to smile, a lift
That Nature sometimes grants.
Window View
A swath of lavender sways in a field
where the meandering brook slowly flows
a hint of fragrance swiftly yields
memories of childhood sweet and fair
Private Property
In Florida, we take a walk
Adjacent to the bay,
With stunning views and gorgeous homes
We pass along the way.
Each house has land across the path
With water access, plus
A swath of lawn with chairs or swings
Which aren’t meant for us.
For signs say “Private Property,”
In other words, keep out!
Some also read “No Trespassing”
In case we were in doubt.
At least we get to see the bay
And all that goes with it,
The balcony in our hotel
A lovely place to sit.
Diamond due droplets
Adorn fresh flowers
Calm comely comets
Flowers nectar filled
Sway in Zen Zephyr
Petals curl furl frilled
Zen Zephyr scent wafts
Tempt the tender buds
Taunt the tough thriftlofts
Tender buds spread smiles
Unleash aroma
Swath in sublime styles
Aroma outspread
Soothes the ambiance
Euphoric moods wed
Ambiance gorgeous
Creaturely chorus
Premium MemberPetals
They dance on the edge
Of nearly unperceived breezes
Into a swath of glowing light
They slowly open, as it teases!
Each petal like little poems
So soft and ever so gentle
Untorn in the warm amber glow
Healing our sore souls indoor!
Dewdrops moistening those petals
Making me totally sentimental
In silence you protect the core
The bee tied to this moment, I adore!
Holding on to you to feel stable
For the nectar you offer at your round table
And when each petal withers and dies
You blow with the breeze to fly
As you wave and say your last goodbye!
Premium MemberEve of Evening
Where to turn, oh friend I ask
I chose to turn to you,
if you'd be so kind.
Though I try hard to describe the beauty
heard by deaf ears, fall so short..
seen from eyes so blind.
Invited by a melody from the stars,
a concert of music makers enthralled-
Their numbers standing before me
cast down to Earth for you and I,
swath of angelic voices recalled.
Whether human beings or beings from a higher plain
I won't hazard a guess, nor confess, nor grasp..
yet still I ask.
Oh, but..
if you were there,
if only in this life., a trace.
heard from these ears
heart lightened in my chest
tears streaming down my face.
If you still don't understand, I understand
if you're troubled, please try to see
I'm trying in vain, so you must
imagine emotions evoked in music
a limited engagement, mimicked..
by a lone toad from a swamp.
It's me.
Even now try to recount the magic in moments..
turn away, not from beauty nor music, but strife..
hold onto a miracle, a million miraculous moments
in eve of evening..
in life.
There was an old woman:
a bit of a shrew -
She couldn’t have children,
'cuz guy parts won't do.
A shocking pink swath
up there on her head,
she drank boxed Chianti
and raised cats instead.
Premium MemberA Choice of Paths
Each day presents a choice of paths
As we journey through life’s meadow,
Seldom do we foresee the aftermaths
Making our way in sun and shadow,
Knowing not what the future may hold
With certainty, we valiantly press on
Placing one foot after another, boldly,
Through eve’s night and morrow’s dawn,
Until time comes to stop and rest awhile
To reflect on the paths we chose to take,
We find ourselves greeting with a smile
Most of the decisions we chose to make.
Hopefully, the better choices outweighed
Overall, we took the right paths,
A swath of right and just decisions laid
With no one accusing us of the aftermath.
