Swashbuckler Poems | Examples

Premium Member feeling beloved inside the story

adventure and intrigue parade out of this missive
I am a pirate, a swashbuckler, a pirate queen
Feeling beloved, belonging to the sea,
Fitting into this novel better than I have ever fitted out
My emotions are strong, I am finally respected and admired
I jump back into the book

Wind filled sails drives his command,
A salty breeze chisels his face.
The crew obeys his every demand,
Master of the sea stands in his place.

Sailing South to all virgin lands,
Heading's true and steering straight.
Ship is cradled in starlit hands,
With fertile dreams at Heaven's gate.

No tempest will dissuade his course,
A swashbuckler oh so bold.
Guided by unnatural force,
To fill his coffers full of gold.

All deckhands will now prepare,
Adventure on the open seas.
While searching for islands fair,
Perchance to do as they please.

Lookouts spy a distant ship,
Crew stands firm to do their duty.
Now with sword strapped to the hip,
A plan to seize pirate's booty.

Alongside black sail moving fast,
All fall silent as cannons roar.
A fatal shot strikes the mast,
Skull and crossbones sail no more.

With victory that tastes so sweet,
On their way to a lavish coast.
Tahitian beauties soon to meet,
The part that they all love the most.

Rum filled shipmates sigh relief,
Back to sea no more to roam.
With gold and jewels beyond belief,
This Captain steers a course back home.

Premium Member Swashbuckler Flees the Ship

Let’s swashbuckler for fun the fox said to the owl.
The owl was encouraged, for he was an optimistic fowl.
They got out their swords and they fought to the brim.
Pushing owl to the edge of the ship, fox’s eyes got quite yellow and dim.
Let’s fly away fast! The owl said to the furry bandit.
Come back here! Yelled the fox to the retreating chit.

Premium Member The Ultimate Swashbuckler

He looked like the consummate soldier.
Rugged, powerful, unbelievably masculine.
Handsome if you asked me.

Have you seen him? People would ask.
I would keep my silence. Not their business.
And I was not about to betray his confidence.

He is the ultimate swashbuckler in battle, men said.
He makes my heart sigh, women said.
I smiled, keeping my counsel, adding nothing to rumors.

His helmet and shield are magnificent; you can see them flash in battle.
He leaves no prisoners; except women and children.
He has God on his shoulders; the men follow him gladly.

Is he the son of the king? Where does he hail from?
His long hand-knitted green scarf is legendary.
Some armies see it coming, and surrender.

I smirk thinking of it as I hear the tales.
For he is Frederick, the son of a miller and a housewife.
And he calls me Mom.

Premium Member Piggly Wiggly Pirate Notion

I had a dangerously daring piggily wiggly notion
To become a swashbuckler pirate and live in the ocean
Cut off my right leg, replaced it with a peg, hopped toward the sea.
Became a happy buccaneer, slashing other pirates right under the knee.

She tried to get my attention a number of times
But It was not possible because
I was a country or two away
Wearing brown leather swashbuckler pants
White billowy blouses, and multi-buckled boots,
Fighting pirates with Sabers.
I was mighty and terrifying.
Hearing my war cry turned their blood to ice
Which is why I did not have to stab them
All I had to do was wave my sword around
And scream and they would jump ship
And get eaten by sharks or swim to land
Pride oozed out of me as I heard my battle cry.
Student me replaced pirate queen me hard and fast
When I heard my peers laughing
Apparently the teacher was not amused by a battle cry
In the middle of her boring math lesson
A Pirate Queen serving detention?
Unfortunately it happens

The Movie

An impulse led him to the Cineplex
That dull Sunday afternoon in May
To crush his consciousness of his guilty complex,
Borne by the woman who abused him in different ways.

The celluloid screen would mask the horror
Of what was his pathetic life
As he’d immerse in adventure and furor,
Forgetting his woes over pop and popcorn in the back seat.

But the movie was a remake of his suffering.
Instead of a swashbuckler dashing across the screen,
There was a screechy scream, and the flehm
From her dying breath and futile gesturing.

The piercing cries in that dark corridor
Echoed within him when he sliced her into a hundred pieces
But the black suitcase he clutched was sore.
From within it rang songs of lament from a broken peace.

As he wriggled between the sheets yearning for his mistress
He sighed with relief that the movie was only a dream,
But there was a shiny red suitcase that sat silent
By the table stand and the stench woke him

From yet another dream!

Leading Men

Errol Flynn a swashbuckler
he was also a wrangler

Jack Webb loved LA
gave us Joe Friday

Kevin Bacon brought us footloose
many years after Mother Goose

Humphrey Bogart had many roles
his acting on screen without holes

John Wayne cowboy and soldier
neither one was more bolder

Dress Up For Grownups

* for "Halloween Costume" contest sponsored by SKAT*

Oh I've had many wacky costumes through the years
Just to show folks nothing is as it appears!

Once I dressed as a pirate and wore videos
A cable wire necklace and swashbuckler clothes

I was a video pirate and some people guessed
When they saw vcr tapes in my treasure chest

Another time I had antennae and big wings
Dressed like a gypsy with my necklaces and rings

I was a gypsy moth, not many even knew
They'd stare at me and laugh but didn't have a clue

And sorry to say but once I was a pregnant nun
Irreverent,I know, but it was so much fun!

When all else fails and you are kind of in a hurry
Here's a last minute one so you don't have to worry

Put P on a t-shirt,blacken up one eye
You'll be a black-eyed pea,it's good for a stand-by!

I've been a box of Kleenex and a trophy wife
And all the normal, boring things you see in life

But being a creative soul I've tried to be
At Halloween something you don't usually see!
