Premium MemberSuper-sized meal undersized heart

I see him on the main streets
aggressively panhandling
ranting at things only he could see.
He once surprised me in the Mcdonalds drive through
banging on my car window with a fist filled with steam
barking incoherently
motioning to roll down the window.
I quickly jerked away from his fifty caliber eyes.
Didn't spare him one dirty dime.

While eating my supersized meal off to the side
I silently justified that he looked to clean
wore better sneakers than me.
Some say angels crisscross our paths
in full disguise to measure the beat of our wings.

Think I Need a Flag

Think I need a flag…

To reflect my being
Think I need a flag
For everyone sightseeing
To admire all my qualities
And individuality
A flag to tag not to brag
Though representing…
Me.

Think I need a flag…

To hold up very high
And higher it will go
Way up UP into the sky
Enormous it will be
Once it is erected
When it’s set you can bet
Will only be projected
With a colourful supersized
Pole to hold it fast
Bound to be forevermore
Quality to last

Think I need a flag…

To decorate the earth
A flag to symbolise myself
And all my riches worth
Once I have my flag
Will feel quite liberated
For ownership of my flag
Will be celebrated
From everyone around the world
Who’ll see my flag as fine
And a zillion duplicates to make
For the flag of mine

Think I need a flag…

To identify
All of me they will see
Me, Myself and I
Never will there be a flag
Better than my own
To blow around in the wind
To make myself well known
People they will love it
With corroboree
The greatest flag we ever had
Representing…
Me.

Premium MemberTongue of a Blue Whale

A blue whale’s tongue
How large can it be?
As supersized as a redwood tree.
No, not that big, the expert said.
But if you get smacked by one, you might become dead
As big as a car?
Bigger I think.
It weighs as much as an elephant.
So away I slink, for a blue whale is in sight, heading for me.
I hide in the corals, hoping me she will not see.

Premium MemberReady To Confess

Cop stopped us and we were guilty as truth.
I thought I might need some money for bail.
But God had better plans for I am blessed.
Batted our eyes, which always works for Ruth.
A fine supersized fantastical tale
supressed

All my crazy friends were blitzed, broke and tanned.
Others at this point might have been depressed.
Inebriated, I began to wail
I caught myself before I broke down and
confessed

Premium MemberHe Is Overblown

he is overblown
with his supersized ego
I know it sounds trite
he’s mastered pretentiousness
and here he is now
please act natural, cousin
don’t give away anything

Premium MemberWhose Woods Are These

Whose Woods Are These*

An Emerald Necklace wends through Boston town
as children we would roam unsupervised
go catching frogs and other things we’d found
beware the turtles – they were supersized.

The dogs we had were large and not too smart
so they would play with creatures live or dead
return with stink to make the skunks depart
chase off the pond-bound ducks and steal their bread.

While we of tender years and lacking sense
would splash along the minnow dotted shore
then dine beneath the berry bushes dense
as lazy dogs succumbed to summer snore.

Then home – across the tarmac heated soft
to sit upon a stoop at sunset’s fall
to watch a stoic moon’s slow climb aloft
awaiting silent streetlights curfew call.

When Your Brown Eyes Light Up the Sky

Oh how your brown eyes light up the sky
Lifting my heart as if it could fly
Singing such a beautiful lullaby
When our love floats like a butterfly
I see myself glowing up on high

When the wind blows our hearts ignite
Where They will blossom day and night
When the sun shines so heavenly bright
Our love flies high into the light
Taking flight before it disappears out of sight
Everything between us just flowered from the start
Finding you has been the most amazing part
When your stunning brown eyes surrounded my heart

Allowing our love to grow
Together not apart
With your love wrapped around me
laying it all down to lye
Meeting in the middle
Your eyes falling on to mine

Baby your love hits the bullseye
When we touch life becomes supersized
Never having to ask ourselves why
A love as powerful as ours will not pass us by
Having your heart next to mine
Makes my life so completely divine
Both of us walking the same line
Us together where you will always be mine

Fried

Cal Call was a lowlife nicknamed Big Mac
he was obese and partook from a sack.
He gobbled up French fries
and with no surprise
died, alas, from a supersized heart attack.

I Know That the Dream Has Died

I know that the dream has died.
But why?
Why does it end so suddenly?
Our dreams fade into nothing.
As if they were never there to begin with.
Our dreams just glimpses of what could be
But never will be.
It's sad to begin with, but then its expected.
You stop being supersized and except it.
Your dreams will die and you along with it.
I know that the dream has died.
I now know why.

We Are Not Alone

We Are Not Alone

Where are we going?
Rushing around
Going everywhere and ending up nowhere
Do we have to move so fast?
Eating undercooked hamburgers and supersized Cokes
We do not talk to each other
We never notice the person standing right beside you
Even families talk through email and texts
Too busy to sit and talk even for a minute
Strangers and family remain strangers
It is like we are a civilization of one
Six billion independent souls who need no one
We do not notice the world that we live in
The sun rises and sets in beautiful colors
We never notice the sky unless we’re caught in a storm
Flowers share their natural beautiful colors
Their scents fill the air but no one stops to enjoy them
Life moves too fast for anything as trivial as that
We should take a moment and stop
Just one moment to notice the people we share Earth with
Stop and smell just one flower on the side of a building
In that moment you will know that there is a world out there
A planet of life for you to experience
And you will realize that you are not alone
