While most Soupers are snoozing
I'll be sitting in a shaky hut, shmoozing
Half-wishing that I were warm and cozy inside
Yet mostly glad to abide
by the precepts of Sukkoth, which require
me to live in that hut '24/7' ~ though not expire!
Dates, figs... apricots...
Pomegranates too... a lot...

Sukkoth, Israel's Harvest Fest-
ival, begins Sunday night,
October 16 and runs for 7
nights and 7 days. Orthodox
Jews, from financier to farmer,
live in tabernacles (booths)
during this joyous festival.
It's that time of year
that Jews hold very dear
Called the 'High Holidays'
followed by Sukkoth
a sort of 'Harvest Ballet'
A good time to take stock
of how one uses the clock
To give the schedule a tweak
to change up one's week
So, I'll be posting a lot less
Let's hope for the best...
Then perhaps come back strong ~
Until then, good luck and so long!
~ Here's to everyone's health and happiness! ~
Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur
Day of Judgment, Day of Atonement
Weeping openly in synagogue
Praying for our very lives
As if our hair were on fire...
Sukkoth, Festival of Tabernacles
Celebrating the Harvest
The Spiritual and Agricultural
Offerings brought for each
Nation of the World
One festival left now
No more weeping
Only one offering
To Him, the King of Kings
Celebrating Him and
the Torah He gave us
Dancing with pure Joy
on Simchas Torah
Hallelujah!
