Premium MemberSnakes He'd Shoo

Have a Guiness and let’s toast St. Patrick
Whether laddie, lass or old codger geriatric
A bold gent with such clout
All Eire’s snakes he shooed out
Never has there been a saint so theatric!
Robert

I am an old codger geriatric
But I will raise a toast to ST. Patrick
For shooing those snakes
Away for our sakes
He definitely was Saint Fantastic

St Patrick

St. Patrick was a slave.
He escaped and then forgave.
He brought Christ’s holy word
To those who had not heard.
They had been his captors.
He saved them from terrors.
With shamrock plant in hand
He helped them understand
That God was very grand.
God is a Trinity
In His divinity.
God is filled full of love
For those born from above.
This thrilled the Irish so.
They were happy to know
No more fear in the night
That them a god might smite.
They embraced Jesus Christ
And found that He sufficed.
That is why to this day
We hold St. Patrick's Day.

Medusa Goes To Ireland

MEDUSA GOES TO IRELAND

Medusa had green snakes for hair
      For what, no one recalled
She sailed and saw Saint Patrick
And now she’s gone quite bald

Premium MemberPray With St Patrick

Sing out, O heavens, and rejoice O earth
Break forth into song you mountains
Lord comforts His people
And shows mercy to His afflicted Isaiah 49:13

We commemorate St. Patrick
A fifth century bishop
And former slave
Famous for driving snakes out of Ireland

I’ve never been to Ireland
Plus
I live where there are no dangerous snakes
So his deed didn’t hold much meaning for me

Until I realized that snakes are also an image for the unpleasant forces that can sliter
Slide into human existence
Gossip for instance
Poisonous relationships

Squeezes the life of families
And communities
What might be afflicting us now?
St. Patrick is beloved because he offered God’s mercy to free people from what afflicted them

Bringing God’s comfort and the assurance that God never forgets them
Even when they forsake Him
Let’s rejoice in praying with St. Patrick

Premium MemberUnicorns and Leprechaun Parade

Unicorns and leprechauns
Uniforms and spectra dawns
Unidogs and unicats
Unimen wearing shiny spats.

Unicorns and leprechauns
Whirling, twirling and dancing on.
Unihorses and unipigs.
Gaily wearing parliament wigs.

Unicorns and leprechauns
March is here, February gone.
Uniwomen and unigirls
Wearing green with all the frills.

Unicorns and leprechauns
Let’s all put our Irish on.
No one Irish the rest of the year,
But everyone Irish in this parade here.

The Trick of St Patrick

Patrick lived in Great Britain, his wick,
But when he was sixteen and quick,
Was captured by pirates horrible,
Taken to Ireland adorable,
Where he found god, his walking stick.

Premium MemberSt Patrick Day

St. Patrick’s Day

Just a few yards ahead of my terrace,
Gift of Nature is my treasure, so precious,

A pair of gregarious trees Shorea Robasta stand,
Closely attached, as if branches hang hand in hand.

The trees start to shed dry leaves since last week of February.
In first week of March both show skeleton in haste and hurry.

Astonishingly every year on seventeenth March.
Tender nascent leaf buds peep out in each perch.

Perfect is the timing to greet and honor St. Patrick’s Day.
Pair of trees get covered with gorgeous veil in green spray.

They spread shiny glossy bushy big green canopy hood
Flora of Green Earth celebrates green vigor in happy mood.

Plants decorate themselves with leaves in various shades of green.
Let your evergreen Heart be keen to enjoy love of your Valentine.

St Patrick S Day

A special day is coming
That you all soon shall see
It includes all Irishman
And that happens also to be me.

The celebration in question
Involves a lot of play
Even non Irishman take part
And have fun on this day.

People around the world
Will bless and even pray
This day we wish each other,
"Happy St. Patrick's Day".
