Devotion Poem. MY PLEAS
(For Jim) ***
I’ll call out for you
All the enchanted,
The splendors
all usually
unwitnessed by
the average day’s
Noticed sights and
The sweeter songs
blue butterflies
hear, and which
sound unto
Composers’ ears days
before they’re
written.
I’ll plead colors of joy
encircle you like a
Future-come more
Than this present
noon…
A future drawing of itself
Reborn, with you
A Phoenix rising
On the dawn of peace.
This is a poem that has no end…
and as I wait, will please find none.

Clusters of marshmallow clouds hanging above
Bright, iridescent colors of the rainbow
Geese flying in dazzling synchronicity
Splendors in the sky

Sapphire ocean blue, twinkling waves of white
Capped in heavens glory, divine,
Oh heaven for a drop of that blue paint
Crisp and clear like a visceral emotion
Reaction exhilaration of heart beat
Lord thine sky at night, true love
Calling across time and space
Breathing in all splendors, of
What nature hides in light
Not wicked, nor wanting of grace
But fresh clear beauty of infinity
Infinitely spun wide wonderful
Tangled web of beauty, hold your breath,
Shine, shine like dark light that
Matters less in light of day
It must be to me then, love
Life in the night, lucidity,
Crystals of God’s tears
Shine, burst forth no more fears

Summer's dress is gone
Darken the colors for warmth.
Crops now in harvest,
leaves come tumbling down to earth...
Indian Summer is here.
Cold days, colder nights
Fireplace sings its wooden song.
Cords stacked in rows,
sentinel woods wait outside...
Snuggling up with one you love.
Night comes on too fast
The big yellow moon stands out.
Vees of geese fly south
against the gray sky of day...
Time to change the clocks, again.
Holiday spirits!
Ghosts, Ghouls, and Goblins abound.
Children seek rewards
going to houses unknown...
"Trick or Treat" is the password.
How I love this time
Knowing that year's end is nigh.
Give thanks to the Lord
for His generous nature...
All seen in Autumn's splendor!

nature in all it’s splendor,

Crab-apple trees; flush
As the autumn hues ripen
Oak and maple leaves
Coloured red, gold, and orange…
Gently fall -- covers the earth
Tanka

The 5/7/5/7/7 rule is rumored to have been made up for school children to understand and
learn this type of poetry.
