The Apology

Apologize

OH, I just can’t! I have to!
Perhaps it will be just as bad as I thought,
But just maybe I’ve built this up in my mind
Into mountains of humiliation I can climb.
I’ll look and see if there aren’t some positives.
Maybe I wasn't so bad after all.
I’ll eat a good breakfast and play with the cat.
Off I go..I’m going to feel so much better when this is over.
Promise. And maybe I’ll make a new friend.
Or maybe he’ll punch me…oh well.

Lovely poem Barbara, and a situation familiar to most of us. Reminds me of the old quip "I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure." Love, Nigel
