Checked it flag
A stand out soapbox
All in grey
Challenger in a race
Speed of competitors
It was fast like a Greyhound Dog
Grey color gets attention
Had to mention
Grey soapbox named “ROADHOG”
As the wheels accelerated more and more
It was definite that the soapbox was going to even the score
Faster Faster and Faster
Maneuvering here and there
The soapbox was beyond compare
Ahead of its time
Throughout the soapbox race
Every competitor was in a chase
Winner to be
A let see
Who will cross the finish line?
You guessed it, the Roadhog being the grey soapbox
Cheers and roars
Undefeated challenger
Winner took all
Soapbox winner call.

On My Soapbox Again
Miracle Man
7/28/2023
Most politicians are becoming political snowflakes,
If not in agreement you’re viewed as a traitor.
They cow to lobbyist, while playing patty-cakes,
and queried by the press they become a debater.
Some are offended by the words husband or wife,
so a bill is in congress to force the word spouse.
The word binary can be chosen at start of new life,
but this type of changes, some will never espouse.
We’re doing every sinful thing under the sun,
and I’m thankful that I don’t have much longer.
At eighty-four my life’s race is near being run,
so I pray for sweet Jesus just to make me stronger.
Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Community isolation
the void placing we made
among us to survive.
I was one to you
In an exhibition, which is stillness
periods in the darkness.
You paddle in a straight line
to the outskirts of my horizon
from a slab of rock.
We're heading down
as the paths thin
and our reach narrow.

A Soapbox Opinion
By Tom Wright
10-15-2019
America has lost,
its moral compass.
Hardly a day passes,
without some sort of rumpus.
Like some third world countries,
we’re fast becoming.
Many give no thought,
to Christ’s second coming.
Some able bodied won’t work,
always seeking a handout.
While millennials run up debt,
expecting a tax payer bailout.
Socialist’s have made,
“tax the rich” their battle cry.
But all of their promises,
are just pie in the sky.
In our lives, the government,
makes too many interventions.
The road to perdition,
is paved with good intentions.

Today’s Soapbox Opinion
Written: by Tom Wright

Ambition, to politicians, is like powerful drugs,
We’re shown clean hands but most resemble slugs.
Seems It’s more of the same with every election,
And this years field typifies a dingbat collection.
Catering to lobbyist while with voters patronizing,
They can’t seem to agree on where the sun is rising.
Each has an agenda and firmly set in these ways,
A socialist wants free stuff and the wealthy pays.
America is a country where opportunity is rife,
We’ve become a fractured nation, thus inducing strife.
“Well done is better than well said”

On My Soapbox Again
By: Tom Wright
3/27/2006
A lot has been made
Concerning my comfort zone.
I’m told that I must leave that place
In order to grow in God’s work,
We were not made to all be alike,
Only in his image,
We each have differing personalities,
Some introverted and some are extroverted.
God also gave us talents of different stripes.
Others have expended great amounts of time
Trying to move me from where I am,
To where “they” know God would like me to be.
Perhaps when time is of age
God will cease telling others his plans for me
And just inform me.

on a soapbox
constantly yelling
black and white
statements concerning
what one should do
to be considered normal
became an unhealthy
ritual among the two
repellent souls brought
together by chance long
ago in a land far far away

Though my eyes are sleepy and it's very late
There's always one more thought to convey
Of love and peace and harmony in the world
A wish for world peace every day
Of love and friendship from country to country
A world without territorial obsession
Each and every human is a product of evolution
Ridiculous we've never learned that lesson
I'm not the first and I surely won't be the last
To express this frustration with things
A product of untold years of confrontation
And the terrible consequences it brings
My soap box is getting so battered and worn
I'll keep trying though from where I stand
To do what I can though it's small in nature
To get everybody to walk hand in hand
A bigger stage would certainly be welcome
That's highly unlikely in this state
It seems so simple but so utterly complex
Someone must step up to the plate

Banks have it made, they use our money
To make themselves oodles of cash
Then pay us a mere pittance in interest
How come they get away with this trash?
Back in the days of old Jesse James
Were the banks as rich as today?
Did they rip us off like they're doing now?
No wonder Jesse tried it his way!
Is there no justice, is there no law
That prevents such obscene behaviour?
Are we always destined to suffer in silence?
Will the government act as our saviour?
Again on my soapbox and rightly so
Common man doesn't stand a chance
To retire in comfort like our grandparents did
We've all got big holes in our pants
What if we keep our savings in a shoebox
Will the economy crumble and fail?
The rich CEOs, the damn powers that be
Should be served and locked up in jail
