Dear Karen, there’s something I need:
I’ve got you a poem to read.
A deficit in one’s attention
is probably best left unmentioned.
If boring writes get you distracted,
my outcome’s adversely impacted.
For when the dear reader is addled,
strong placements just up and skedaddle.
Before you’ve a chance to retort,
just know that I’m keeping it short.
Disorder escapes its confines
perusing these final two lines!

Two happy phat cats roll around in the meadow
Gathering pollen and dust, and asking “so?”
Their temperaments placid, their eyes all aglow.
Watch them skedaddle when machine comes to mow
They wag their tails in the happiest friskiest way.
We watch them until they are out of sight end of Tuesday.
Loving their confidence, their moves and sashay.
Two happy phat cats, loving themselves every day.

Our Border Is A Complete Disaster
Miracle Man
September 19, 2023
Each day that passes brings this country more grief,
and migrants coming illegally will be allowed to stay.
From this humanitarian crisis we’re getting no relief,
and the billions its costing, those here must pay.
We helplessly stand observing our population grow,
without any resolve to stop those rushing our borders.
Progressive socialist preach, no need to control the flow,
current leadership should all be given marching orders.
We’re living in a time when our work ethic is weak,
and changing of the guard has let morals skedaddle.
Being truthful and God fearing we dare not bespeak,
which leaves us far up the creek without a paddle.

A closer look at a fantastic word
And no, I’m not talking in bafflegab
To not repeat this speak is just absurd
To absquatulate like a fracas herd
Throw a foofaraw over a little jab
A closer look at a fantastic word
A uni-brow is a glabella furred
And whirligigs hung too slapdash to grab
To not repeat this speak is just absurd
Scuttlebutt schlepped to sassafras by bird
Skedaddle from a skirmish of stone crab
A closer look at a fantastic word
A quibble over razzmatazz occurred
Doohickey from a lummox, easy nab
To not repeat this speak is just absurd
So scrumdiddlyumptious I may have slurred
Like tintinnabulation, it’s not drab
A closer look at a fantastic word
To not repeat this speak is just absurd

Silence
I'm dying in silence
So wretched in pain
Looking for jubilation
But where do I begin?
When silence has subjugated me
Who do I turn to?
When most seem to be targets of depression
I'm hungry for uncoditional support
Trying to skedaddle from silent pain
Seeking for someone to hear me out
But they all tend to be victims of dying in silence
Huh! Silence....
Silence is just silence
A toxic chemical which cause depression
Without being swallowed
Can I skedaddle it?
Argh! Wait, I'm looking for jubilation
But where do I begin?
When silence seem to be one of my dread
I can't even swallow bread
For silence has taken over
Bit by bit
Little by little
I'm dying inside
Dying in the midst of combat with silence
So wretched in pain
Wish to heavily exhult in happiness

Eight tiny reindeer jockeyed for the position
To guide Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve,
The arrival of Rudolph was an imposition
So, they told him to skedaddle away.
Seems Rudolph assumed the job was his
Because he’d guided Santa one foggy night
The others said, “Neigh, go take a whiz!”
Since it was clear, there was no fog in sight.
Santa agreed there was no need for a light
So Rudolph went back to his cozy, warm stall,
As Dasher took the lead without another word
And Rudolph wished a Merry Christmas to all.

Duchess has Den, Lind's Empathetic Yen
Laughing with Casey gave "rise" to a fall,
Giving "urgery" to surgery,
We pray the setback is soon annul!
Sometimes when mishaps occur,
Causes appreciation in full,
When things stop working,
Face the horns of the bull,
Carpe Diem! Step back & reflect,
Refute descent, resaddle!
Read, think, thank, pray, sing,
May the Big One bless you ->"Troubles Skedaddle!"

Sittin’ in th’ saddle. Gotta soon skedaddle.
School marm says she’ll tattle. Sheriff wants a battle.
Kissed her on the cheek jes’ to git a li’l peek
at her widow’s peak ‘cause she’s purty an’ petite.
Gotta hankerin’ to git off ol’ Buck and sit
a spell afore I quit and have a chaw to spit.
Cogitatin’ and bidin’ time afore ridin’
down that canyon hidin’ lest I git a chidin’.
Starin’ out blinkin’, doin’ some proper thinkin’
‘bout the stars a twinklin’ and my heavy drinkin’.
My casual, carousin’ rife, hidin’ from the strife
of settlin’ down my life an’ takin’ on a wife.
Soon I’ll fergit the threat, fergit my social debt
I don’t wanna sweat dirt jes’ to pay a moral bet
farmin’ unfertile land, or workin’ for the man.
Druther take a stand and work as lonely cowhand.
Might as well admit it, I’m a social misfit.
Don’t wanna submit it, or give up an’ quit it.
Searchin’ but cain’t seem to find comfort in my mind.
Guess it’s ’bout time I recognize I’m doin’ jes’ fine.

Armadillo,
peccadillo,
armored, slow, but
sneaky fellow
when confronted,
rather yellow
some say, very
cute!
Armadillo
peccadillo,
leprosy and
such diseases
not aggressive,
somewhat mellow
he's a nasty
brute!
Armadillo,
peccadillo,
please stay in the
open fields, not
tearing up my
daffodils and
nibbling to the
root!
Armadillo,
peccadillo,
please return to
Amarillo,
and even though
you travel slow,
now skedaddle,
scoot!

Juliet Cat was an amazing high-drama queen
I am not lying, exaggerating or trying to be mean.
She used to spend hours on her balcony, lamenting her fate.
She had a crush on Romeo, an arrogant tom cat first rate.
The rest of us could not understand why she spent days,
Pining away on the balcony, whining in all kinds of ways.
She is never happy or satisfied, the other female cats said.
One was angry with her for sure, for her husband was dead.
She does not know real misery, the widow woman mewed.
A fight broke out in the alley, a mob mentality, one got lewd.
Juliet Cat did not hear them, she was in a world of her making.
Until the balcony began quivering, and violently shaking.
It’s a tornado! Everyone ran inside and put hurricane shutters up.
Juliet Cat was the first one to skedaddle with a friendly pup.
Things were touch and go, but some were ready to celebrate,
However, the roof came down and crushed Juliet; a horrible fate.

You can be a turtle, a deer, a buffalo, a dog, frog or a sphynx,
But you never know true love until you have fallen for a lynx.
I have a pair of them, and they adore me upside down and inside out.
They give me joy and companionship; they truly make me shout!
You may refer to them as bobcats, if you grew up seeing them this way.
No difference to Hansel and Gretel, they still hunt down their prey.
Their silent padded paws help them hunt with the best of the beast.
When they drag in their carnage, we have a wonderful meat feast!
They were found by me as babies after hunters got their mother.
They are happy with me, and even more happy with each other.
A brother and a sister, they like to prowl and hunt at night.
I sigh a relief when they come home, knowing they’re all right.
They can run fifty miles an hour, faster than most cars on our road.
I like watching them skedaddle, when they are in chase mode.
They like to curl at my feet and listen to stories, and sigh.
And no burglar has ever bothered me. Don’t you wonder why?

Breathe! Under the downpour of sour showers
Of existence, 'gainst thy feeble powers,
This trifle's for survivors and for those
Who has found their green but not their purpose.
A helpin' hand 'comes a feat to achieve,
Skedaddle from hurt and always believe,
Dwell in glee, reality 'comes a fluke,
A way for the dame, a halt for the duke.
Now, the only way to survive is by
Going 'gainst the will of the Almighty,
Breathe with a purpose now before you die,
Would you live in peace as hell awaits thee?
I channel my rage to thoughts I made seethe,
I live, even though it feels hard to breathe!

Coyotes are not seen often
By humans
For they sense us and skedaddle
But after our mother passed
I saw a coyote in my yard
Bigger than I had ever imagined one
She had wandered almost up to my house
Which was unusual but spiritually telling
For my father had been known as the coyote man
I took this as a sign that Mom had arrived in heaven okay
A reassurance, which oddly comforted me in some way.
I called my sister
Have you ever seen a coyote? I asked
She said that she had only seen one in her life, the day before.
It ran out in front of her as she was driving to our parents home town.
Enough said

Pecos Bill daddled and skedaddle like molasses.
Sunglasses cuddled, his badass
Stetson buffalo cowboy hat.
Lashes his airish, passive donkie Mis. Do Goglles
as he passes, airin' the lungs.
Sits there like that passin gasses,
at the chanting masses.
Allers among the willows, Pecos bypasses,
poaches the stooges
Dooie and Doodle Doodole's angelicas, n boozes.
Bested by the Sheriff, neat and straight on its feet, no actress;
a rope chafed Pecos neck at the gallows.
