Not a Princess

I send my wheels on uneven ground,
fear humming louder than the street,
but courage sparks when I push off,
a girl who won't accept defeat.
I land the trick I thought I'd miss,
not built for crowns, I’m built for this.

If I Had a Skateboard

If I had a skateboard
I’d make up some tricks
And toss in some old ones,
My own special mix.

I’d glide down a staircase
And leap in the air.
To show off my skills,
I’d accept any dare.

All the people who noticed
My age from my face
Would be shocked by the stunts
They would see taking place.

If I had a skateboard,
I know in my gut,
It would take merely seconds
To fall on my butt.

Skateboard

I’ll never be rich.
My skateboard broke one day.
It was the second time I tried it.
The first time, I almost broke my hand.
But this is worse, because this was a gift and I’m not.
I never did get a new one.
I’ll never be rich.
Although I might be 30 one day and get a second chance.
I might have enough for an apartment, and a skateboard.
I might be homeless though, who knows?
I’ll never be rich.
I’ll never be rich!
And I’ll never ride a skateboard again.

Boy With a Skateboard.

Her heart pounds, the cup in trembling hand
The waitress assures he’ll be here soon
The minutes pass like hours
Her face doesn’t betray her anxiety
Putting herself out there
Easily hurt, another sip of time passes.

His cap is fashionably back to front
Skateboard in hand, wheels facing out
Too old to be surfing the path, surely?
His nonchalance might be a show
Her pretty eyes deserve more, but
She’ll put up with his childish
Hobby for now.

He leaves, another show of dominance
Mutters something about sitting outside
She stays, finishes the coffee. Her cup’s
Drained. Unable to fight, her phone
To her ear. In he comes and they speak
Face to face on the phone. He picks up
His skateboard, I can’t see but imagine her
Eyes rolling skyward, thinking will he
Ever grow up? Probably not, but she’ll
Carry on for now.

Premium Member Angel Riding a Skateboard

Angel riding a skateboard
downslope on the highest mountain
in God's creation,
wings folded in to increase speed,
approaching the ramp at the end
the heavenly host hold their breath
as the angel reaches light speed
and jumps high enough to land
at Heaven's pearly gate.

Skateboard

I am a goofy foot skate rider
Who loves to challenge my track fighter
We flip and roll our skates
Into the urban lanes,
On the ramps, curbs, rails and streets
Beaming fun, as we darkslide,
Jump, flip and fly
Just to turn clockwise, to
Make it home on time !

After Receiving the Present - Skateboard

After receiving the present - skateboard,
I felt- that receive the best gift in the world.
However, an hour later my parents agrees,
That the best gift for me, is the lovely front teeth.

Premium Member Skateboard Ramp

Colored skateboard ramp
With graffiti all over
Preparing for leap
I jump high into the air
Ramp is not for the leery
