Beats are like that,
you know….
they can jazz the soul,
bump the heart, and get
one’s feet ceremoniously
tapping—fingers snapping:
for sure, I am a Thumper,
Banger—Slammer, first
on skins, and now
plastic, but none-the-less
fantastic—tunefully elastic!
With my old Sizzlers good
as ever, for quality bronze
never fades entirely away,
ringing truer with
the seasoning-years.
Youth? I miss it…
but not when playing
in a rowdy, holistic way;
sensing my bounce tripping
on—long after a dashing
left-hand gone.
heat haze
wetted sweaters
ennervating spirits
waiting sizzlers in scorching woks
mirage
Right outside my window
Wafting up inside,
Starting every morning,
Continues through the night,
Foods from every nation,
Right here where I live
Delicious and very tasty,
Different foods Instead
Starting with the sizzlers,
Starts the day ahead,
Moving on to bacon,
Then butties on the bread,
The day goes on and very soon,
Fish chips peas and pie,
Getting very noisy,
People’s passing by,
All day long the laughter,
Children playing too,
Bouncing or kicking balls,
Noises coming through,
Night time comes along,
Drunks are singing song,
Waiting for their food,
Curry pot, Chinese too,

(Blame Game)
I sat down silently praying
Lambasted and humiliated
Before my stunned peers
My blood boiled, perhaps even curdled
Simmering my almost roasted brain
Skinny sinews tightened
Cheeks like two red hot sizzlers
As anger lashed against my ribbed skull
Writhing in agony for volcanic outbursts
But the pounding heart retraced
The tongue reined tightly
She was my teacher
Her day had begun badly
Our principal had fumed at her
His car had broken down
He was late for school and in
The vicious melee of blame game
I became an easy prey of
Uncontrolled tempers
Wondered at the pedigree
Of maturity and immaturity
Though my exam was ruined
God, perhaps had
Planned an unknown layout
Exclusively for me.

Competition: the Choices We Make In Life
Syrupy with recipe ran along brasseries
Peiping, Mags and Oasis pricey rotisseries
Sizzling sizzlers the Peter Cat’s clamor
Addled couples fending their pockets out of scarce.
Boogie with deejays rhythm along discos
Tantra, Fusion and Roxy surfaced floorshows
Mass hangout the Some Place Else’s beckon
Mini-fashioned getups makes the other to pay on.
Volumes with fictions traded along bargains
Oxford and Metropolitan are mostly visited
Cohort no bar wide-ranged music stocked at Music World
Passerby’s daily dos’ makes the guard better-known.
Xaverians with hip-hops confined along principles
St. Mary, AG and St. Augustine are teenagers realm
Scandals and hearsays are their daily boasts
Highly noetic minds makes them their daily booze.
Hotfooted with attachés bucked along clock at nine
Pushed subway, the most busiest at times
Hi-fi managers and Board meetings at The Park
Foreigners often ease themselves at the Flurry’s cake bar.
