Hand on your shoulder- by Dominique Smith
Hi, whom are talking to? The cold reality pull you back. Hey? Whered you go? Whomsoever is there is no longer a feeling. Tight shadows in your cold corner, the feathering flicking lights of trust have been drained. The wires are exposed and unsafe, the water of tears can help electrocute you.
Falling failing flattened on the pavement, Hey? There you are. Wake up, what are you doing out here. Forest lit by fire flies, no memories have felt so enlarged, time goes on the weather is no longer a factor. Stop being stupid and get up off the ground, stop calling me stupid! Whome are you talking to? The humidity has you in a chokehold, the warm bath you slip into is a huge relief.
Come on, Lets go home. But I am home, No our home. Ok , lets go. WAITE!! NO!! what the hell is wrong with you?! I was going home.... No you're not! Youre going to the building with help and hope, No! Im not! Im going home! Look me in my eye, ok. Are there any hands on my shoulders? No. Then you fooled her again. Because you told the truth, the only hands i see are on my shoulders and they would never leave me no matter what or who.

Putting my best foot forward
shoulder to the wheel
nose to the grindstone
my Achilles heel
while sticking my neck out
I soon found
as
with my eye on the ball
ear to the ground
when I put my back into it
not with tongue in cheek
but to keep my chin up
heard joints creak
the onset of old age memory loss
an early taste
for in the end I forgot to bend
at the knees and not the waist

Looking over my northern shoulder
at the changing shades of day
a weak winter sun turning twilight grey
teardrops of rain on the window
the gentle sigh of the wind
storm clouds in the evening sky
bring it all back again
poring over unwritten letters
in the solitude of night
a dim lit candle shining star white light
telephone silent unanswered
candlelight quietly dimmed
unwritten letters to no one
start it all over again
I don't want to be lonely
for the rest of my life
and if I love you only
will you stay by my side

The untimed snow rushed insulted against the glassed shoulders on the poster,
and they were made of paper, they were bare…
It cried, scalded, on the painted, colorful faces,
and they were made of paper, they were bare…
Its outraged tears transformed into tears of joy,
and through them they were still smiling,
not caring for the bitter cold,
in defiance of the delayed spring,
Because they knew,
It could not wash away their colors,
It could not cover their bare shoulders.

As I held him close aboard this morning's earliest train,
I had an epiphany that my love for him will never wane
And I will be with him through all of life's pleasure and pain.

I remembered when you came for my birthday.
It was years ago.
Ten to be exact.
You would not go home and stood long
You almost slept in my bed since it was late
Oh how it could have been a date
Eight years prior I had dreamed that we would be in each others fate
Well, with me that night you did not stay
Your heart would belong to a different metaphoric beau
You placed your head on my shoulder
For me it was a betrayal that could not be any bolder
I could not make you love me
Now your’re back after a run with a person that is no longer here
Did he ever exist?
Was he a manifestation that you created for yourself to mirror?
Your mirror is a fanstasy.
As your clock ticks, understand that you are not worthy of my seed
With your words and actions, I see your garden only begetting weeds
The weeds are your lies
I don’t love you
You are the past

Sometimes a curtain, might block out the sun
daylight I’m certain, meant for everyone
to shine on big things, that we need to do
to shine on small things, when they matter too
Sometimes the whole world, is just ten-foot square
four walls without words, to say if they care
for all those big things, that we try and do
or all those small things, when they matter too
Sometimes a shoulder, a fresh pair of hands
can lift that boulder and shift tidal sands
off all these big things, that we say and do
off all these small things, when they matter too
Sometimes persistence, can lead to a door
making a difference, or two, maybe more
clear skies will show us, how much this is true
clear skies will tell me, what matters to you.

Chocolate ice cream, you've been waiting,
But my temptation is abating..
I've laid to rest the chocolate ooze,
Today, there's another one I choose.
Sending regards to both bean and cow,
Caramel crunch is my main squeeze now.

It would be easier
carry the world
on the back,
if everyone participated
with your shoulder...!

There's a little bug on my shoulder
But it won't go away
There's a little bug on my shoulder
I shrug
But I guess it's here to stay
There's a little bug on my shoulder
It's starting to itch
There's a little bug on my shoulder
I wish somebody would kill the son-of-a-
There's a little bug on my shoulder
That's making me want to die
There's a little bug on my shoulder
I hear his busy buzzing everyday
And sometimes at night, I cry
There's a little bug on my shoulder
I plead that someone will take it away
There's a little bug on my shoulder
It's depression and anxiety rubs off on me
EVERYDAY!

Margaret is astounded
That someone dare call her prissy
persnickety, uptight, queen
She gives the man her coldest meanest shoulder
his eyes captivate her imagination
her telltale cheeks flush pink

This head that we have but it's not be a burden upon our shoulders. In between the space of our skull and our mind, May our heart process be pure and soften. May we use gracious words. Father teach me to listen and speak right...
"Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones"--" Let your speech always be gracious season with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person" ---
Help me Oh! Father to listen more with your ears to listen right in you help me Father to speak--"When words are many sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise"
Help me to talk right and live right through and in your Father Amen

As the sun sets, this mortal world is an hour older
The darkness without warmth is always a bit colder
Stones past along the way some the size of small to boulder
Life's highway is punctuated by mile markers on both shoulder
Are they memories or just distances placeholder?
As fires long burn out, their ashes still find ways to smolder
Does asking questions or finding their answers make us bolder?
True happiness really is in the eye of the beholder

We all get to choose who we are by virtue of what we do, every moment of every day. Actions have consequences. But if we choose to do the right thing in each moment, we remain on a righteous path and leave a trail of good as our legacy.
Angel on your shoulder
By Michelle Morris

There's an angel on your shoulder,
Guiding you all the time,
Trying to offset the influence of the devil,
And steer you to heaven sublime...
That angel helps you navigate
Your daily twists and turns,
And helps you on your destined path
To avoid eternal burning...
For your soul is your most sacred essence,
Shining brightly when you are good,
For every positive thing you do,
Uplifts humanity as it should...
And if you manage to always
Choose to do what is noble,
You'll leave a legacy of light and love
For your loved ones and the globe...

I am beginning to reckon
That to Miss Tracy I beckon
I permit to my image ruin
With the strength of the rains of June;
In the end self-esteem erode
And parts of my flesh corrode
And Miss Tracy lavishly goad
To balance on my shoulders load
I should see its rubbishy content
To delay not a vile intent…
I’m now some cycle Tracy rode,
For which like river she had flowed;
Thunderous laughter did explode.
