Premium Member Full-On Collision

Seems the nation’s really worked up right now

Abortion, church-state, the ‘insurrection’ sow division

     ~ Heading for a full-on collision

Cash

The gambler was hard-up for cash
Didn’t get it, but instead got a rash
He worked up an inch
His stomach started to twitch
Money hungry, the man felled and crash

Misinterpretation

I misinterpreted
another poem today
I waded in with
my high black
bootsand put
my back into it
I worked up
quite a sweat
Exhausted I
departed
satisfied
but
wrong

Premium Member A Good Wife Is Hard To Find

When worked up and yelling a sight to behold She was an expert on the art of the scold But she was good in bed And kept him well fed And he was quite deaf if the truth be told

Just One Day

If for a day we two could be
To share a breath, to maybe see
That if allowed, we’d then feel free
To be just as we should

Then we would make our hearts content
Breaths worked up would then be spent
                To further prove our covenant
And do just as we would

The Stripper

I settled down to watch her strip,
A beer can in my hand.
Impressed, I hardly took a sip -
She’d be in great demand.

The music blared, its rhythm wild,
She worked up quite a sweat.
Amazed, I clapped and she just smiled -
She hadn’t finished yet…

She took it all off, every bit,
And turned to take a bow.
This decorating job’s a hit -
I’ll hang the paper now.

Overload

Shaky
Weak
Wanting to cry
Needing to hit something

Upset and mad
Mixed emotions
Needing to get it out
I can't stand this

I need to handle this better
Why do I get so worked up
Over something so small
Its many things combined together

All happening within one day
Its an overload
Especially when I dont know what to do
And how to handle it all

Frustrated
Angry
Upset
Confused

Needing to cry
Needing to get it all out

Far Away

He was so worked up with her constant yelling,
that he packed to live in a remote motel.
There were coyotes' howling and sounds of water
wind mills all around him. He found comfort
in loud sounds that didn't seep into his skin,
so much that he couldn't feel his nerves.
His wife wasn't always loud;
she began when alcohol drove him further
away from her.
She was loud because she wanted remnants
of his conscience to hear her....

Assumptions

It is merely speculation
Yet we get ourselves worked up
Before it’s said and done
We conclude, it’s just too tough

All because of a notion
Not a concrete fact
We question, where we’re going
Eyes fixed on our own backs

We determine that we know
The Who, what, why and where
Frigid feelings snow
Tension chills the air

Defensive out of spite
Caused by our suspicions
Could be wrong, may be right
We assemble our own prisons

Premium Member Worked Up Lies

Mind tormented with stresses of the day.
Misled truths and thoughts in disarray.

A purveyor of lies, they are to me.
Unfairly treated, their so-called bribery.

Against a wall, repeatedly my head pounds.
Nothing is played out right, revenge on rebound.

Just let me go to collect my dignity.
Your fibs just keep adding up the ante.

I am spent and somber, from your wrong dealings.
Please just let me go from your mental beatings.

The Story of Love

He liked her,
She liked him
He looked back,
She looked back,
But she wanted a different him,
So he looked away, sadly,
Wanting to talk to her,
But never worked up the nerve,
Never stopped thinking about her,
She kept making fun of him,
He still wanted her,
But she got the other him,
But the other he got a new her,
She, heartbroken, looked for him,
He comforted her,
They fell in love,
He got her,
She got him,
Now they live happily ever after,
Never letting go of their love

Feel The Way You Feel

They say when you look you're not supposed to judge
They tell you when you're mad not to hold a grudge
When things don't go as planned keep a level head
Don't get worked up over something someone said
There's no need to cry wipe away those tears
Pick yourself up and face all of your fears
You'll never fly with your feet on the ground
Until you've been lost you'll never be found
You have every right to feel the way you feel
You have to feel the pain before you can heal

Valentines Days Letters

He has a handwritten letter
Written years ago when he was a boy
A special letter to someone special
He wrote it on Valentine's Day
Asking his secret love to be his
But it was never delivered
He just kept it locked away
He never worked up the courage
But he didn't know that she wrote a letter
She also wrote it on Valentine's Day
It spoke of her love for that young man
But it was never delivered
So, they both missed out on love
All on a Valentine's Day
