The Perfect Poem

The perfect poem
always has something missing,
an emptiness between words
lined with longing,
a space large enough
for a reader to fit in.

Pain

My heart aches with longing desire,
But love has proven to be a liar,
A painful scam that only burns like fire,
So I choose to let go and rise even higher.

Split Immortal

It's with longing, desire to fulfill each their own,
Silence slowly replaces their gutteral moan
If a creature so beautiful it's not with great fate,
this immortal should split, falling fast to the gate

Crazy

It is as crazy as he is
And never will he count it clever
Yes, clever as he was
Before it made him sink
In that thought
And filled his heart with longing.

He then shall pretend
No to be so loving
And exercise himself
To hate love.

Blues

Blues suffused with rhythm
Born from pangs of regret
Bound with longing and need
Bass guitar slowly strummed
B.B. King's sad lament
Bittersweet love gone wrong
Broken heart; mournful soul

Longing Befriends

Can you ever make love
what you want it to be

Can a heart once broken
  become whole at the end

Can the feelings you wished for
  unleash and be free

Can the joy that alludes you
 —with longing befriend

Try

try
we never knew why
what sadness broke her heart
what busy-ness took her anxiety back
leaving her time to be with us,
her hugs warm and long
but in her eyes
deep brown eyes filled with longing sadness
a secret, a happening long ago that still had hold of her heart
her heart

Brick Laden Air

Brick laden air, choking breath. Red heart rent by whispers carrying your voice
Chameleon colored leaves dropping dew
Fragrant warm wind breathed on the nape of your neck
Ululations fondled, pedophilic fires lit in your loins
Disasters renewed,
Frogs trill with longing they have my voice.

Hesitant

Hesitant feet on uncertain ground.
A hesitant heart making no sound.
Daring to beat too hard and too fast.
Daring to dream and pray love will last.

Butterfly tingles, senses reel:
Dare I tell him how I feel?

Eyes veiled with longing;
An empty hand grasps ~
For a chance at tomorrow
And his love to last.

Surviving Solitude

Loneliness lurks like a live leprechaun,

Leering at her loss of love and laughter;

She leads a luckless lamentable life,

Lacking light, leaning towards lunacy,

Laden with longing and lacklustre lies;

Listlessly lingering in lethargy,

Labyrinthine lady looks lachrymose.

Mine

When love comes this way

With longing and magic light,

The stars twinkle, the moon shines bright.

Dark is lifted, gloom fades away.

His face is as bright as a new day.

My heart feels light, alive and free

He brings me joy, his touch excites me.

Life changes, the dark is pushed aside

Come to me, my love abide.

Bed of Roses

That perfect day
When we first met
Though cold and windy
Holds no regrets

The connection was forged
The desires were strong
Flirtatious glances
From hearts with longing

The crescendo builds,
And the passion starts
Anticipation meets
Long after dark

And the bed of roses
On which we lay,
The sheets now cold
But the feelings remain

Faceless Canvass

The paint not quite dry
The strokes vivid and strong
Hues of violet and amber
A masterpiece set aside

Each color painted with longing
A portrait of all that is true
A faceless canvass of yearning
Uncompleted from hapless youth

Before the callousness sets in
A fragmentary work of art
Placed in an abandoned corner
Forgotten in life’s hurts

Waiting For An Angel

I wait for you
here inside my heart,
every moment,everyday.

With longing eyes,
with burning lips,
with trembling heart beating fast,
i wait for you.

You will heed my call.
You will hear my plea.
You will appear in my dreams,
and make them rosier.

I wait for you.
Like the monsoon and the rain made for each other,
i wait, i wait, i wait.

Glass Bells

tentatively we touch
gentleness a brushed lingering
rising waves of repetition unfold
achingly intense
crisp as belled glass

full of heartache, plump with longing
life races toward … to ward …
in spiral tip toed pirouettes

trailing across the tympanic membranes
sliding up and down scales
darkness sharp and ivory keys
sound reminds

Wild Mustangs

An ache, some hurt with longing to yearn
Cauldron left to simmer with passion
Bubbles in the fire ball of desire
Closely watch topless metaphors;

Animal instinct with intuition
Gets drawn in a desperate hunger
As she is wooed in the foreplay
Melodious moments with sensation;

Makes her cower to his firm will,
For she loves the rapture and thrill:

In a Certain Eye

What is beauty so ill defined
quantity of what matter?
Yet when I look in your eye,
wild lustrous eye of Mauve,
I am struck dumb with longing
to touch beauty, to be beautiful.

Again, what beauty?
Shall I dim the light?

We are one spirit, human.
Sometimes I see beauty in every
man and woman. Sometimes
beauty is contained in a single
point of light, in a certain eye.

Utah Desert Sunset

Hold the beauty of the desert
it's wind cold
pristine
blanketing wide expanse
reckoning
awake to drifted thoughts
blown endless across plateaus silent far
where distant dreams painted in the sand
draw close with longing
like lips across a rose
eager for the touch of soft deep colors
well defined in quiet self repose
or the purple of the sky
now stayed together
the hazed sun orange red against.

Tethered

you brush up against my senses
staging a full frontal assault
sending me reeling, too much feeling
bouncing me off of the walls

you tether me with longing
a cord braided with hope and belief
you lasso my heart with loving
and love songs you sing just to me

you orchestrate my memory
in dreams where the magic befalls
burrowing yourself deep under my skin
oh the depths and the wonder of it all

My Thoughts

My thoughts are often filled with longing
Yearning for a love to call my own

Thinking of strong arms to hold me;
Hands so loving they touch my very soul.
Overjoyed by his attentions I turn to face my love.
Unabashedly, I give myself to his lips
Grasping his very essence towards me,
Hungry and demanding; we become one.
To him I am his dream, the one he has long
Searched for; meant to be his love forevermore

When Darkness Hides the Spring

When I am dead who will read
these little songs I sing
when thick the mould presses down
and darkness hides the spring?

My soul so filled with longing,
finds too short life’s little day
to fulfill a lover’s hunger
for earth’s beauteous bouquet.

I think my voice will shout aloud
although they say I’m dead,
and my mute heart will sing until
the grasses tremble overhead.

My Name Is Legion

My name is Legion: for we are many

You who have the gift of life you who have the gift of love
by Gods grace grant me the best of all gifts
the gift of a merciful death

A man might have immortal life and wander
for all the generations of man till reaching the edge of doomsday
let me find harbour to see again with longing the lives of those who grow old and die
Of those who die

He who knows our thoughts will he not hear our words

Skooter Where Art Thou

Skooter oh skooter where have you gone

been three days since you left me at dawn.

before I can accept your departure,

remember how we filled you with nurture.

A house cat you were,

and now and adventurer

may your journey be safe until your return

with longing and emptiness our hearts will yearn

for a quick return home...

Posters are flying with photo's of you..

knowing our luck, you've been returned to the zoo!
