Fear
Bending close so I can hear
bringing darkness all too near
it whispers wetly in my ear
this clammy thing we call fear.

The Heart's Rondelet
My heart is theirs
Closest to the crystal fountains
My heart is theirs
Nearby in our forest so green
Carved wetly into every oak
(Though I thought I solely owned it)
My heart is theirs...

The Temple
Millions of cells in the body temple. Thousands of cells rupture every day, fall way; tear-drop ghosts spill and puddle wetly. They all must be reincarnated as the same God.

After Rain
Dew ballet stirs animate on fragrant morning air
Acidic steam ere ancient winds admit first sight of dawn
Marsh rafts bearing saddened reeds through mangrove-sheltered heat
Perspiring forest greens' forced breaths as night so wetly fades....

Holiday Rain
Traffic is slow.
In the drizzle
the holiday crowd complain and grizzle.

Magpies and currawongs are carolling.

The morning is silvery now.
A heavy sky bends down,
dropping diamonds
wetly on the ground.

Mounds and hills will grow emerald grasses.
Rain sings the treasure of life as it passes.

Laidback Satisfaction
Laid back flat and floating
On the shady side of cool
Trailing fingers wetly in the pool
Listening to memories rock and rolling
Wailing Janis broke in Baton Rouge
Kick the side and sail into the sunlight
Things can’t get much better for this fool
I think I’ll maybe get another cold one
Tip and sip and savor flavor slowly
Satisfaction’s just the way to go...

In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lion
would you say a day ending dreary,
cast in a gray of which we all grow weary,

looms sublime in its overcast fray?

earth meeting sky in flat light,
over echoed night birds reflected in white,

as april clouds wait impatient to wash it away;

but do flakes smother hope like dew
or wetly hide spring’s silent green clue?

while under black ice lurks warm summer days…...

Breathing wind
across ocean currents
Waves of a sea murmur
under tides turn over emotions awakening
Satin white washed surf

Beholding
upon the rocks
Beloved apex
a sunbeams brilliance

Wetly kissed
under a rainbow arch
Throwing light
of the moon spotlighting
dancing with the shadows

Crouching where the sun rests
Twilight fires burn amber
within clouds shooting gunbarrel grey...

Raindance
windswept rain slaps the bottoms of leaves
shivering they shed it
grassroots shake and slake their thirst
then wave their stems together
tight closed buds stand on their stems
reaching upward fretly
shaken yes but through it all
they hold together wetly
branches wave in shades of green
so many hues and tints are plain
Spring is here and she is seen
dancing in the rain
wind sings and swings
green tambourines in rythym...

Autumn Scene
AUTUMN SCENE

A deserted outdoor café -
Empty tables piled in corner,
Sun-umbrella, collapsed in desultory
Flapping, and folded wetly to itself.

Concrete planter box with pansies -
Tired, wilted, droopy, washed out;
Discarded ice-cream wrappers -
A watery white smudge on the kerb.

Bare wet sidewalk reflecting her legs,
Raindrops spitting onto her glasses,
A woman hurrying with her umbrella,
Stepping quickly round the puddles....

First Date
First Date

Oh, I died a thousand deaths
In my naivety
And lack of knowledge

Seventeen I was
And she was sweet sixteen.
She knew more than me.

My lips wetly stuck to hers
Her tongue licking my teeth.
I gagged. She laughed.

Just as well it was dark
When I fumbled at her breast
And missed.

I was beet-red
In the cinema dark.
I didn’t try again, of course.

I walked her home
And kissed her goodnight.
We didn’t go out again....

Songstress
She's out there singing verse
Against a backdrop of surrender
Baking in wasted desert dry
Fathomless well of wondrous wording
Silent under ceiling fan cool
Thoughts in random redness
run wetly down cold feeling cheeks
Out in swelter seeking shelter
A mocking bird stands
One legged on a cactus shaded stick
Words form from inner longing
loosely linger inked and dry
Soar sweet siren
green eyed flight light
Spreading angel wings
Shedding shredded sadness
to fly so finely free...
