once more
an open door
weathering yet
another storm
this place you hold
where forgiveness grows
like a tulip
in my soul
WEATHERING LIFE’S TRIALS
Such tribulations:
Sweat yesterday; snow today!
Life’s weathering trials survived:
Come tomorrow, I’m ready!
Stepping stones
Facing unknowns
Embracing zones
Weathering cyclones
Contentment owns

Monocrostic (Birthday of Bren M. Bongcay)
Weathering all in its fold,
Awaiting her to bare her soul,
Velvet waves calling her near,
Ethereal sunshine paints her clear.
She, determined will cross the frontier.
Have a blessed birthday, Princess,
Living on earth requires moxie;
Weathering the storm needs firmness,
To overcome calamity.

weathering Wales in bleak winter is hard
though starred sheep remain sleek
taverns roaring fires a feat
making Celtic maidens sweet

So does the wobbly, witty wind does brave, blue blow-

Of a serene nature
Peaceful and calm
Relaxing through the moments
And weathering the storm
Feeling the gentle breezes
As you hang out at the bay
Nature takes its course
All throughout the day
Through an indecipherable swirl of color,
A sweep of waving leaves…emerge.
Somber tones depict a tenacious iris,
Weathering the storm.

Stone homes of ancient memories
Sentinels sleeping under white
Locked in a fading breath
Of the long lost keeper.
Life trapped in timeless glass
Glimpsed amid weathering bones
Outlining the ways of forgetfulness.
glisten flowing streams
ravishing the hillsides wide
floral green valleys
~
cascading waters
soothing the land marshes grass

Its special indifference
and weathering smile,
reminds every passer
—its strength and its guile
It stands in the desert
alone and unbowed,
to flower in protest
—its nature avowed

Friendship
trumps romance
strong feelings beset
without Cupid’s cloud
the road never wet
Friendship
trumps romance
when joy turns to dread
the magic enduring
— far beyond the bed
(The New Room: September, 2024)
The sun doesn’t shine
All the time
As sad as it may sound
Sometimes the dark
Swallows the light
Where nothing can be found
We feel our way
Through the night
Attempting to hold on
Getting a grip
So we can rise
Weathering the storm
Storm
So strong,
I need to
Brave your vileness,
Your violent wind
Almost knocks my life down.
The heavy rains you carry
Terribly flood my surroundings,
So I keep my head above water,
Weathering your surge as long as I can.
I’m something like Superman
you know, one of a kind
the way I write
wielding my pen
dissecting all my rhymes
Flowing through the stanzas, verses
riding waves of rhythmic lines
Sorting through my abstract thoughts
weathering my mind
God's
design
for marriage
is one man and
one woman joined for
a lifetime, together
for richer, for poorer, in
sickness and health, in good times and
bad, weathering life's storms, side by side.
Two halves become whole. There is no out clause.
Weathering Storms

On the sea of life some tempest I’ve endured,
But a safe place awaits me, of this I’m assured.
I’ve weathered some storms and none were savored,
but I feel I’m blessed and am highly favored.
Consistently sincere
rock solid.
Formidably weathering trite storms.
Carol your dedication
exemplifies
exemplification.
Whether shocked or soothed there you are
discerning
smart
shrewd
kind
You know your own mind.
The Cheshire cat's toothy grin
has nothing on you.
Tip toe through rough spots
Calling on the one who counts
Knee pads worn
Screaming out weakness
Replacing with faith dates
Growing measure intake
Grounding depth in sight
Understanding soul fight
Day to day
Hour to hour
House built weathering
As a Feather
The weathered nest swayed
in tree top
battered by the wind

"Inside a man of steel, a towering fortress" - quote by poet.
amidst ordeals spiritually steadfast.
tough to break; calm under pressure;
weathering life's tempestuous storms,
passing tests of character and faith;
strength and endurance like no other.
Standing proud on the top of a hill
Is a three legged stone windmill.
A unique structure in plain view
For locals and tourists to admire too.
No longer functioning but looking smart,
This land feature is a work of art
Weathering elements, strong in its place
Welcoming each day with poise and grace.
