I went searching for hattie pattie
But found scarfy larfy
With a pin
Moved on to henny penny
Who said the sky was fally wally
Ate food at banky linky
But it tasted like stinky stinky
Threw up all over pinky kinky
Went home to slinky hinky
But the bed kept spinny linny
There once was a squirrel named Smacky,
who snarfed every snack in his shacky.
He stuffed nuts galore,
then scurried for more~
That snack-stricken scamp was so snack-wacky.
THE WACKY WORLD OF WEIRD
Dr. James E. Martin
©October, 2013
The wacky world of weird,
Has never disappeared.
It remains today,
It won’t go away,
Its adherents are loudly cheered.
This wacky,
morning feeling
is here again.
That amused face
in my mirror
looks ready to burst
out laughing
when it peeps out
and sees me
peeping in!
snow and icicles
compete to adorn house roofs ---
white pigeons peep from wall holes
to seep through spruce groves
the sun tries and tries and fails ---
fog spreads his grey pavilion

Asked the census-taker, at once witty and wacky
Are you two married, or are you happy
We replied, We’re happily married 40 years now
~ For a couple married for 55, that’s a real WOW
I often find that I'm most usually
motivated and inspired to write poetry
right after a hit from a cigarette of wacky weed.
In retrospect however, the poetry is poorly,
but at that euphoric moment when it's created, it's a masterpiece.
Here's some wacky names, my doctor is Liam Crummy
Barb Dwyer, Seymour Legg, Stan Still, and Terri Bull, really funny
If you want more here's others to avail
Ima Kettle, Dan Druff, Rusty Nails
Can't imagine what their parents called their puppy

Cherry tobacco
I knew you were
Here
Glad to see you
So happy
You came here
You got your
Quilt wrapping you
It is kinda cold
Outside
In your rocking
Chair
Hey who's that
Outside
Well I guess
I'll have the soup
Something
To stick
To my bones
Thanks I will be
Going now
Guess I will
Be getting
On home

I can tell that the stars are unhappy
and I know why the moon's acting crabby
‘cause they know you won't call
And it's bothering us all
I'm sorry that I behaved badly
The day won't go on without you
The clouds have been crying all day
I've expressed my regrets
please forgive and forget
‘cause even Alexa's gone wacky
That face in the mirror
flashes a grin
as it peeps out
catching me peeping in.
And here's that wacky
feeling again,
teasing my mornings
every now and then.
Folks say it's got to do
with self-esteem;
once in a while,
I can be what I seem.
Unknown
to the rest of humanity,
I'm quite amused
by my own company!
air rockets skyward
uppercutting inside
plastic neon flesh
contorting at inhuman angles
what does my body language spell?
ankles anchored into the Earth
to stay grounded as the wave
of time and space crashes
a flood of stagnant flux
there is a symphony of bones
snapping and cracking
in twisted orchestrations
the act of existing for me
is a resilient demonstration
For the Life without U and Me contest.
Willy walks across the wild orchids
Sporting a licking from nanny
Kick, kick, kick my ball
Sponsoring a bad day for all
Soaking in the whys
Hopping angry,
"Today, I will go to Canada
Nanny's gonna kiss this boy!"
Wild thing in a slow snit
Lips big and tripping his body,
Down cast sight
Will last all night!
I think I did it with no "u-m-e"?
Here comes this wacky feeling again
when that face in my morning mirror
looks amused, ready to burst out laughing
when it peeps out and sees me peeping in;
more or less that's about my self-esteem
or the shortage of it, others' impressions
and views about me and the rest of humanity,
thanks, I'm still amused by my own company!
