Poetry

An escapade in entendre
A vacation to self-connotation

A release
From the vicissitudes
Of Certainty

Equivocating consequences
White juxtaposing …

An amusement

Sour Ambitions of a Puny Mind
Contrived to be relevant
An extreme subversive
of distorted concoctions
While having his stricken soul bare
And denigrated to a faceless crone
For his vicissitudes are an improbable casualty
Of a broken soul.......

Stormy lives lived, their

querulous remaining separated trust-less...Understand vicissitudes where-by

New Timeline
Fresh starters for the new year,
A new goal for a new month,
Markers for a day.

The poet's calendar,
A door to a new timeline,
Planning versus life's hurdles.

Vicissitudes and mysteries,
Tomorrow's questions,
Dawn harbingers what we see.

A stoic stands at contemplation’s crossroads
winnowing the weeds of will
delving into the divine divisions
of fate’s frolicsome vicissitudes.
The face of a stony simpleton
suffocating on a stifled smile’s
guarded grimace
pandering to pleasure’s pain.

Quiet Vicissitudes
Quiet vicissitudes on a lonely shore.

Memories fading with age as the family home crumbles.

It sits alone, abandoned, on it's now private island as the ocean continually encroaches with time.

Nothing left but photographs to prove to the world it was here as a storm crashes overhead.

With one final gulp a once happy home relinquishes itself to the watery abyss....

I listen to a good friend speak
but do not watch her face
Follow I instead her dainty hands
    her gestures' timeless grace

  I listen to another friend
    and focus on her eyes
  They reflect vicissitudes
    each one a new surprise

  Listening's a neglected art
    from which many do depart
Its instruments be eyes and ears
    windows to the heart...

Dogs of War
Dogs of War

Release the dogs of war!
literary beasts, teeth rending
the fabric of personal realities
digested too long, spew forth

Primal vicissitudes evolve
transformed by perception and time
unleashed, set forth to feed
ravenous souls bereft of direction

Purpose guide my pens blade
slash life upon the virgin page
blood stained truth covering
lies and banality of evil

Stoic...

I relax and sip my martini cruising at 40000 feet.

If only my bags arrive with me, all will be complete

I arrive in Tokyo and watch the carousel go 'round and 'round.

Although it made many circuits, my luggage could not be found!

Here I sit forlorn in the terminal in Tokyo, Japan.

Alas, my shirts and drawers ended up in Kyrgyzstan!

Pas De Deux
All our Love's vicissitudes,
Our amorous, glamorous attitudes
Two Hearts pounding, the grand resounding
With sincerest gratitude
In Perfect Passion, ardor action,
Paramours enraptured fashion
To you devoted, the walls have folded
I lose myself in your attraction...
Everything I have given you,
My Heart, my Soul, my Pas de Deux
Together forever, this sweet endeavor,
Until at last we say adieu...

Generation T
Vapid vicissitudes fade
Because we all know them
For they are life's poor grade
Graded by pain and pain
Felt by humanity,
Humans share suffering.

So tragedy is last
Not first we're told,
Telling lies to selves
Ourselves most tragic
Of all, is self loss.

Terms of terror
Unknown currents
Currently blind
Phobia's, all kinds.

Past echos,
Forgotten
Generation,

Torments
Trammel

These....

Overpowered by the vicissitudes of life, The soul can be broken down and beaten Like a sheaf of wheat at the threshing, Where the chaff is tossed to the winds. The good salvaged like grains of wheat, Leavened and turned into sustenance, Feeds a temporal home for a whole being Who wanders through the fallow fields, After the harvest and longs for eternity.

With Me
Just beyond
Obscured by an irrevocable moment
Under an ignorant sky
Remember the broken memories
Now perished
Every feeble effort halted
Your stolen seconds that span your history

Wishing for a continuance
Intent to find sometimes
That final step past the end
How do we conquer the last

Meet me at the finish
Each participant reaches the goal but none will celebrate

For the vicissitudes of life is birth...

I stand by my love forever
In stormy and gloomy weather
I shall be your navigator
In times of persecution and betrayal
I shall be the even handed judge
When vicissitudes of life
Strike and destabilise your emotions
I shall be the shoulder you cry on
When providence knocks and lifts you up
I shall be that smile of gratitude
That will dissipate years of
Anxiety and tribulations
I stand by my love forever...

Implications of Shallow Existence
Fascinated only by pathological manifestations
Of the subconscious mind
A peculiar mark of unfounded substance
A glaring light upon the hinterland
Perceived as negation
In which perception takes place
The implications of shallow existence
A recourse of ragged indecencies
That intricates the fallacy of life
With so much refuse and slag
In its labyrinth of cohesion
Beneath it all lies constant turmoil
That stands against all vicissitudes...

Rude Awakening
Sun's in the sky, birds are on the wing,
wife's gone shopping, doing her thing.
Lawn needs mowing, things need to be fixed,
what to do first? My feelings are mixed.
One day you're a Prince, the next you're a pauper,
I'll just sit here in my afternoon torpor,
and ponder a while on life's vicissitudes,
the course of my life and it's various interludes.
That last glass of wine has made me quite dizzy,
Christ! She's back from the shops, time to look busy....

Where Would Footprints Go
From cuckoo’s calls where’d her echo?
Far from its coast where’d the sea go?

Space-bestirred, time’s sucked by black hole.
Where would the vicissitudes go?

If breath ceases, word’s once spoken,
How far the vibrations would go?

Failing to fetch world's whimsy eyes,
To dust would a poet's words go?

His pen’s body bytes getting blurred,
Where would in time the footprints go?

Pumpkin Moon

Full round pumpkin orange moon
Nestled in the hilltop trees
Am I imagining that enchanting tune
Drifting by on the predawn breeze?

Timelessness...the day not begun
Profound stillness is all that exists
In nature's mosaic all is beautifully one
I pray this ineffable moment persists.

But time must eventually commence
Unknown the vicissitudes it may bring
But henceforth I have this memory whence
In times of stress I can hear my heart sing.
