Steak'N Eggs
I would choose a fine meal
over love.
at least I would know the cost
upfront....

Sorrow
O my love and passion!
And looks and glamour’s obsession
May you know upfront!
From teeth of time’s termite
Spared alone is sorrow...

Premium Member Bad Luck of the Irish
Mr. O'Toole in trauma sat in front
Seeking mercy from tax assessor stunt.
His Irish luck grace
Full Blown-in his face.
With distaste pay money in full upfront.

Boastful bosses 2
Initiative, nor ambition upfront,
Hire him, he’ll be good as my assistant,
I just want a workhorse,
Not one for the racecourse,
A pony’s oft good if not adamant.

Home Blessing
God bless my home
And all the people inside
Make them honest, upfront, loyal, humble and friendly
With nothing there to hide
Bless them with health and longevity
And joy for each new day
Help me to teach them Your grace and kindness
And to follow You in Your way...

The Truth
you say one thing
yet you mean another
tryin to be upfront
while beneath covers

Why are you so selfish
and so ignorant
what exactly does love mean to you?
I have never known anyone so fake
someone who cant speak the truth
someone so cruel

Somene like you...

Tomorrow
Tomorrow

thorny bushes
ripped t. shirt
dripping blood
stopped, which way to go
forward, the bushes
must thin out
upfront
and reveal a landscape
of bliss.
Retreat
back to the beginning
that is painful too.
It is good to know
when losing-
there is tomorrow...

Premium Member Recalling a Century of Medical Care
Our lives were so much simpler
    a century ago
If you got sick, you went to the doc
    else he came to you
So long as you paid him, he'd see the job through

  Fees were upfront
    None of ~ 'It depends'
Either he'd bring down your fever
or you'd die in the end...

Premium Member Fate strikes upfront or with backender
Listen to poem:
The serpent rears up
with fangs bared,
upfront and center.
The scorpion's sting
is poised to strike
with a coiled, curled,
cowering, concealed,
backender sting in its tail.
A life flips on a coin toss:
heads for a destiny,
tails for a lingering uncertainty,
when fate strikes upfront,
or with a backender....

Reason For a Valid Dilemma
I had a conversation with my darkness yesterday
With an option to explore it more. And more.
I had a naïve time and it treated me straight upfront.
Things random do, nothing unusual or offensive.

I thought about it in the dawn, so true and clear.
And I prayed for the eastern sky from the deepest.
Unknowingly for a moment.
I never want to know. Any more....

Premium Member Comfort in the Afterglow
Listen to poem:
Comfort belies not upfront, where the bright glare blinds,
But in the glowing lingering embers of the afterglow.
In the afterburner of the karaoke sing-along song.
Humming the back-story concoction of memories
Translucent and phosphorescent.
Tarrying perchance, in a happenstance dance,
A wake, lingering long, along into the night
On the back-burner, dimmer set to simmer....

Waves
Ever observed a receding tide
and an oncoming wave,
battle for supremacy,
as skin anticipates contact
against its nude,
only for the cancellation
of expectancy,
by the culmination
of uncertainty?

That's life, dearest,
sometimes the positives,
absorb the negatives,
and the splashes are unmet,
whereas other times,
the scented water engulfs calves,
for the depths beyond,
or the pleasure, upfront....

Premium Member Upfront Honesty Regarding Yours Truly
I may post questionable poetry occassionally,
leaving many with the impression that I'm going crazy.
Some may think that I'm contemplating suicide
but I assure you all, that's an option never entertained by I.
I just struggle with constant bouts of deppression,
but I always manage to pull myself out of them.
So don't be concerned when you see this happen to me.
I'm just acting out and being a very depressed big baby....

Fear
Fear creeps behind me
As I take every step
Towards a place called Goal
I look behind and see nothing
But a lost me
But still fear creeps behind
Then I picked this so called fear
Upfront so to face it
Face to face with fear
Fear now defaced by the
Straight face I gave it
Then I stumbled head-on
On a hard surface
Surprisingly it was the door
That led to goal
Just the place I wanna be

Funny Man
Funny Man!
By Linda Hays-Gibbs
Oh funny man you touch the hardest heart
With messages to crumble and start
A snickering or flickering to spark
A laugh a full belly rumbler
A genius of illogical and logical matter
Without him the whole world is astronomically sadder
Oh let our grief someday subside
That we in heaven will find
A bench upfront to see his latest comedic job ( I pray)
The jester (Robin Williams) at heaven's court for God...

Premium Member I Am
I am the messenger for my own thoughts.
I am the narrative scribe inside my mind.
I am the ever listening (just there).
I am the thinker,
I am a deep feeler, I abstractly care.
I am repressive of my emotions,
I am holding passion for my devotions.
I am the one who sits upfront,
I am the one who secludes herself.
I am the student who likes learning.
I am the "nerd", the loner.
I am willing to perform duty and desires.
I am my own way of maturity and responsibility....
