For strength and wisdom
To meet my best destiny
Instead of mercy,
I know what I've gotta do
It's up to me to stay true
To jump is not to fly
But if it were up to me
We'd surely live in the sky
For who needs land if you're free
show me another color
why do you monopolize the sky?
what truth do you hide behind your back?
blue sky, style up,
blue sky open up to me.
That dream of fame and being on TV
Is not, I’m sure, what it’s cracked up to be.
I dream instead the choice was up to me
To keep my humble anonymity.
It is up to me to comfort her
to say the right things
I keep silent, waiting for best friend cues
knowing quietude is what she needs
knowing my bestie
Of that which was once up to me.
I have never felt so alive,
in that moment, that eternity in the blink of an eye,
that moment,
before the knife goes in.

A cute girl fell for me named 'Cookie'
Who asked me to play this game, 'Nookie'
She nuzzled up to me
Which caused me to flee ~
Cookie'd picked an innocent rookie
Can I do everything?
How I do it is up to Me
No questions
Know
All
No deed you do is without Me
No thought you have that does not come from Me
I control everything
Love
Lord
I am of the chosen few
And it's up to me not you
For I am satisfied
And qualified
That I can tell my own testimony

Catch me
Chase me
Hunt me down
Stalk me
wtach me
I am your prey
Sneak up to me
I will not notice
At that perfect moment
attack
I will not know
for you kill
Kill so suddenly
Joyful cupid did the happy dance.
Every day, ready to prance and play.
A big smile on his face, loving his life.
Why can’t we all be like him? I wondered.
Forgetting it is up to me.
I got the keys to the city
and time on my side
A few months apart
with it all locked inside
I have the keys to my heart
and it's plain to see
With one little turn
it's all up to me
Set me free, caged up mind.
I plead and ponder then rewind.
Thoughts play over and over.
Past, present, and future waver.
The sum of life is up to me.
Choose to surrender, I believe.
Today is not a normal day
Today is a wednsday
Today at eight forty eight
Tonight or at day
Today things may happen
Today things may be
Today may be good or bad
But (today) it’s all up to me
I remember your smile.
I remember your tears.
I remember the talks we had through the years.
You looked up to me, but now I look up to you,
and though you dont like it you`ll always be my Boo Boo.
Form:
each second scrubbed clean with newness
I face my demons
they skitter off in corners
i get to decide whether to chase them
tame them or walk the other way
each second my own
to enjoy with free will
A little bird came up to me
"Do you have a worm or three?'
A tiny worm I then did see
As my heartstrings tugged at me
I tried not to lie with all my might
But my simple 'No' came out just right
A bird flew up to me
And plucked a feather from her wing
She said, "Here, it is free,
"and this bottle of ink. Go write something,
"Put away your keyboard, lay aside your pencil,
"Use my feather as your writing utensil."
How dare that flu bug touch me!
Doesn't it know I'm as busy as a bee?
I don't have time to be sick,
I must be up quick.
What do you mean, it's not up to me?

It was a Christmas holiday in Spain,
A lad walked up to me on a train,
He asked if I knew him,
I had taught him how to swim,
Too much water had caused him an eyestrain.

daily tediousness
a lulling monotony
up to me to change this
I could learn a new language
rock babies at a day care center
teach cartooning
Instead I sit in my recliner
clicking the remote
staring at idiocy
doing nothing
A little ladybug flew up to me and landed on my hand
Dressed in red with black polka-dots, looking really grand
I said, "Hello, How do you do?" ... Her answer was so sweet
She replied electronically, "Like a bird, I tweet!"
Before hitting the first step.
The harlequin turned is grotesque face up to me,
-He had the power to charm or frighten weak souls-
and asked mockingly:
You ready for the play? Poor Fool!
You ready for the rebirth? Poor Fool!
I thought that I could judge
Another fledgling poet's worth
Like if, it's up to me
Who is worth their place on earth
But the truth be known, I feel
As I read each written word
That's you're all a number One
Of the poems that I've heard
All those dancers and cheerleaders
Dealers and losers
Faint hearts and beacons
Before me
Its Up to me, down to me
I may resume the matter
hurtling footsteps
Sir Lancelot waiting
working out the price of time
Derange all boundaries again
