Man and the Beast
After knowing so much
of unknown,
you were afraid, but I
lunge for the relic.
How far you will sink
in the depth of cries ?
The moon will not-
offer her lips.
Light will not give you
the vision. A sin unrolls.
The city burns in its-
own garbage.
As soon as the water
dries, eyes will blink-
to nail down the constellation
in fog. The tongues retreat.

Before the Candles Burn
Another workday
at the community college
I taste the
day as it unrolls
Students, professors walking
around
Equations on a board
Dull day
Bu suddenly - a flash of poetry on the internet enlightens!
Words are so powerful
If carefully wrought
Life can kick on down
But poetry can lift one
into new realms of thinking
New dawns, new loves
Poetry - peace - energy - joy!...

Another Time
The shepherd unrolls his bedding,
Too late to get back home,
He must lie, his head on desert rock,
‘Til the raising of the dawn.

With her old tenderness and love.
Does the wind catch the sound of tambourines,
Are there gauze-draped dancers twirling?
Such were the dreams of a shepherd,
Before the universe went swirling....

To Love, or Not to Love Perfected
“To love, or not to love?” that is the point,
the focus which men lose beyond disjoint.
To be a god among men, and unloved,
is woe: even wild beasts are not unmoved
by these fragmented, lone, unearthly souls,
for whom the scroll of history unrolls.
Man, being so much better than feral beasts,
should eschew (and end!) the vile, evil feasts
of his ire: then love these wide-browed seers, men
and women like the wielder of this pen.

Schnauzer In Wonderland
Schnauzer In Wonderland
Down a hole tumbles my dear schnauzer Sean
Chasing White Rabbit, oh no, you’re gone!
Now the kind Chesire Cat
Unrolls a welcome mat
As my friend joins a wonderous egg hunt at dawn
All mimsy are the borogroves, Sean howls out with joy
The guest of honor’s loved by every girl and boy
Eggs aglow, a heavenly hue
Every schnauzer’s dream come true!
I miss you pooch but have a good life and enjoy
