Reflection On Forgotten Love
Young love looses its flavor when left to its own devices
Half forgotten on a shelf it ripens, molds, and decays.
Sweet, sunlight dancing memories that pull tears from regretful eyes
Soon turn bitter—
Suave boys exchange tuxedos for clown noses
And earnest naivety is revealed....

    Where there is no trust
there is no point in ‘talks’

      the other will reject ...

Misinterpretation can call for
a death penalty,

The oak leaf dressed in scarlet for the fall
while others chose bright amber for the ball.

Vermillion was the color to be worn
as sugar maples laughed and danced till dawn.

The whistle of the wind was their sweet song
darkened bark tuxedos swaying along.

A pewter sky reveals the light of day
and on damp ground the lovely dancers lay.
