TRILLED LAMENTATION

              All birds mourn sadly
when all the flowers are gone -
              at end of springtime...

Poverty
I am a proud man
Not because of my wealth
But for my poverty which provides me
Lots of ideas and thoughts
And helps me to delve into my life
To fetch out some rich philosophies
And break into a way to lead contended life,
Without those banal luxury
Moreover I am trilled to think
That in life love and peace
Never dependent on materials
If they are in abundance or in scarcity....

Premium Member Cardinal In Spring
A cardinal whips its trilled zest
Where fields extend into a mile;
That upon bright April's request
My toes wiggle here for a while...
I pause as sunrise paints hued light
By rolling through ridges, how free!
Till more birds arrive come near night
When dreamy hours grant spring's marquee.

Premium Member Gift of Springtime
Sunflowers blush as petals creep
Along easels of meadow's keep.

Winter's arctic days now long gone,
That morn's fair promise trails upon

Breezes sweet , once an icy blast,
Engrave a kiss on spring at last

Cardinal swoons with trilled refrains
Upon leaves' edges like beaded grains,

For springtime is a godly rite
When heaven molds its prized delight!

Return To Sender
Upon the wind of love
Came the cooing dove
Trilled a song sublime
Won this heart of mine

It nestled in my hand
Via far and distant land
Eyes that spoke of you
A love so pure and true

The radiance that it gave
Placed in my soul to save
Enchantment by the song
Takes me where I belong

And I threw it to the sky
To fly the clouds so high
And upon its wings a kiss
To inform you of my bliss

And in the muse of night
I await its returning flight...

A Forest Song
Along the old and winding path
Unwatched, unheard, unseen
A bird flew swiftly by
A robin red and soft
It sang a mournful song
That trilled and trailed
A tangled melody
The sun shone darkly
Through storm clad boughs
As spring spun gales rushed by
A heighted sensation
Soon mimicked in the small birds aria
Fell quickly cross the path,
That old and winding path
Where trees huddle closely
And whispers become lost
And life continues quietly
Unwatched, unheard, untouched...

The Gift
"Gwanny" he trilled
Jublant in his joy
She braced herself
Never knowing what his boy
Would do next.
Yet she heeded when he called
"Come to the fwont porch."
She went, her hands balled into fists as
She crept outside to see
What his gift was this time
That caused him such glee.
Just as she stepped out
The little blued-eyed rake
Pulled out his pocket
A long green snake.
"I bwought you a pwesent
you can keep as a pet."
We'll not say what happened next
But the front porch was wet....
