Image result for cardinals in springtime

A cardinal whips its trilled zest Where fields extend into a mile; That upon bright April's request My toes wiggle here for a while... I pause as sunrise paints hued light By rolling through ridges, how free! Till more birds arrive come near night When dreamy hours grant spring's marquee. This has such a 'vibrant' scent of morning to it! In Colorado, where I grew up, we had the call of the Lark Bunting in the morning, and this makes me hear that again, and inspires an old longing to be up and out at dawn. Beautiful word choices, strong sensory component, altogether Wonderful!
