It's a Fact
With us,
life plays
as it wants
in so many different ways
while offering many opportunities
on golden trays...

Tiffany Lamp
The design sketched --
shards of words and phrases
lie in their trays
sorted by colour
and shape
to be fashioned into a new poem --
to dazzle and illuminate....

Kabul
All decisions are made
at a desk in another country.
They pass through
‘in’ and ‘out’ trays,
collecting signatures along the way.
Then, one day,
they become a concrete wall,
where once a few
tired weeds grew.

Bartered Youth
Hosting my own cocktail party,
I feel as when a child
Looking up, again I’m lost,
among adults wearing smiles
I pour the drinks and carry trays,
and laugh at the right times
But still feel small and unattached
—my bartered youth in mime
(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2018)...

Lunch
The fourth bell had a horrid tone
Daily, I would choose to fast
Hiding in my bag of lies,
“No thanks man, I’m cutting weight”
Oh how I would just trade this love,
For plastic trays and meatball days
Soggy pizzas and stale chips
That is the life I desired
To be like them I hid myself
-This sack lunch is a joke...

Antique
The curio shop
Where no one will stop,
Lives in its yesterday-dust;
A grandfather’s clock,
An earthenware crock,
And Time’s faintest aroma of must.
The brass button trays,
The bright feather sprays,
Languish like lovers ignored.
The years are for sale,
The bargains all fail,
And Time shuffles by, looking bored....

Happy Seasons
I put big balls of cheese in trays before Christmas Eve,
Great for my baked macaronis and ham - I believe;
Coming back home from church service and adoration,
They're all taken by critters for their Cheesemice Season.

The Baker's Kitchen
Rolled in chocolate sugar powdered tops
White puppies play on baking pans
Change to different colors while twisting
Cotton candy dancing on the trays
While baker slumbers up above
Yellow baby chicks just born below make noises
Run around in no particular direction on the floor
The baker is alarmed
Goes back to sleeping
Covered in soft blankets as he snores...

New Poem Old Poet
New Poem Old Poet
I stand again facing the eternal west.
I am an old dude now and,
I miss the western sunsets on Hoover Street.
Those bright orange never-ending endings,
Presenting themselves again like hovering waiters,
Carrying trays of bottled heart-quenchers.
Life is the hat check girl in little orange cap.
When the lights are low,
She steps away privately to dance....

Blossoms' Wish
```` `` ``````
Captivating my senses, a floral banquet
robed in gold- orange pinafores with curls,
their faces upturned to greet new sunset
trays of daffodils rouse fields in fragile twirls
Untold splendor blushes of dainty youth
luring me to pluck scented ruffles in a dish,
but oh, daffodils in a dance whisper the truth
"we're born free"; I bow and make a wish!...
Farmers Market
Farmer’s Market was ablaze with colors, textures, sound and produce.
Not a lot of negotiating like the old days. People pay the price asked.
The farmers who have sold everything begin loading up empty trays.
Heading home for a little nap, since they have been awake since four a.m.
Regular buyers, regular sellers, greeting each other, sharing stories.
It is a bustle and rustle of activity. The happening place on Saturdays....
Pinching Napkins
I'm shuffling trays of food
and placing them up front.
I'm spilling on the way
in stains I'll later hunt.
I'm ever pinching napkins
and wiping spots of sauce.
Forever wiping up them
so later I can toss.
I've piled the garbage higher
with sweet and sour rags.
Left scrunched into a bow
to finish them of drags.
I'll order in more napkins
to later fill the rack.
But first I'll make some more sauce.
A dish from Sally Trac....
Pink and Grey Galahs
I see a pair of Pink and Greys
They fly on by my way
They seem to be so filled with health
To me they do have so much wealth
They're so majestic in the sky
As I see them flying by
And when they land upon a branch
It really puts me in a trance
Trays of seed I have for them
On which upon they land
Such a lovely sight to see
I could almost feed them from my hand
I love to see them feeding there
As the seed these two birds share...
Making Ice
When I need ice, I fill the trays
With water, by myself,
And place them in the freezer
On the left side of the shelf.
When frozen, I remove the cubes
And fill a Ziploc bag
So they will be there waiting
When a drink I want to snag.
I do not need an automatic
Feature on the fridge
To make my ice, improving life
By just a little smidge.
Some modern day conveniences
Are things we just don’t need
But so many think from drudgery
Such short-cuts keep us freed....
Pink and white sugar coated candies
Decorate the candy bar glass jars
Macarons, cake pops and cupcakes
Sweeten the most exigent palladar
Trays of white chocolate coated pretzels
Almond cookies, lemon filled donuts,
Marshamallows and belgium chocolates
Indulge the taste buds with sapidity
From weddings, sweet sixteen party
Baby shower and birthdays, candy bars
Embellish table with a multicolor display
The attraction of the festive celebration
