Power of Meekness
It is not
so weak so falls

It is not
so strong so tramples

It is to
go way with others....

Winter
Whimpering as the scars burn
droplets of white fall around me
Desolate among the black sky
Once again, I am alone.
Lost among fallen flurries,
The beast that tramples through
Looks to devour me
Seeking the shivers that ripple through me...

The Boot
The Boot

The boot careless
Tramples the rose
Tearing petals muddied

No longer beautiful
Not to be chosen
Waiting gardener sheers - trash

The ground below
A hint of blush
A scent of sweet
Delighted in the boot’s thoughtfulness

FRAGMENTS 1

Echoes in the dark
Call at odd moments
As if to inspire
New surge of courage
As fear tramples in the dust
Even simple pleasures
Of familiar good intentions
Yet all is not lost
In conscious awareness

Abrupt shock tramples,
Death funds preamble.

Sudden breakaway,
Empty feels today.

Void in a strange room,
Heavy touch of gloom.

Sad story, sad clown,
World turned upside down.

Tears on wet pillow,
Grief in sad hollow.

Stone pebbles crush beneath my sandals
All thoughts of passion and desire now quiet
and kept deep within me locked away for now
Duty demands my return
pace quickening
if nothing more than distraction from myself
A return to the warrior once again
Who tramples quick and hard upon this road
as if his feet hate the earth itself...

Fancy Men
hostility snaps the nerves
taut from life in tiny boxes
your neighbor prances
naked
through the hall
and brags about her fancy men
attracted to her beautiful, black body
they pay
her rent
her groceries
everything she needs
she tramples them
orders them to hand over their wallets
they do
while she sinks into her coffin
of dependence on handouts...

His Grace
in all you've shared and all you've gained,
never stop giving the love that remains,
the tenderness of your heart that speaks,
moves against the enemy's feet,
it tramples down the worst of fears,
God's loving hand wipes your tears,
and takes you to a different place,
where his love remains and offers you grace,
always with the opportunity to show,
you never give up, you never let go....

Ghost of What Remains
Love is like a dove released to the air

but you can't make it return to ,

you can't make it care

when love becomes distant and shallow over the years

i't tramples your self worth

but you are unable to cry, because you've used up all your tears

All shall pass,time wisely explains

yes, my love for his is gone

And what I have left, is only the ghost of what remains...

Undeserving (For Trudy's Hopelessly Devoted Contest)
She is the most demanding cat who ever shared my home.
She stares at me so balefully till I do what she wants,
And yet I love her more than any other cat I’ve owned.

She tramples on my feelings as she tramples on my plants
Then stalks away with nothing more than a disdainful glance.

Some people say of pussies, that you can’t tell them apart …
I treat all mine as equals … but Pandora has my heart ......

Black Stallion
Fear I not, my stallion so bold,
Black as starless night, and noble stance of cold.
This phantom is the heart of truth, pumping ooze through my veins;
A tarlike obscurity, which thickens till it reins.
And rains! down from the torrent in a galloping stampede,
And tramples the bare vessel of my soul in need.
In kneading me down as clay in the hands of a potter,
Down, down I spiral in eternal slaughter,
But still I do not fear....

Weathering the Storm
there is a storm deep in me
skies turn dark within my mind
a raging tsunami begging to be free
clouds obscure the truth to find
tidal waves crashing forcibly
lightning strikes and i am blind
battering my body for all to see
thunder tramples my heart to grind
pain lashes out to ignore my plea
as winds howl and i am resigned

to my fate,
          my life,
                    my time....

Femi Ibim Sonnet 11-16-2012
Flirting with the one labeled love,
Eager to please her sense of sight,
Making sure that I get it right,
In case push ever comes to shove.
Inhibitions fall from above,
Beyond limitations of night,
Intoxicated by the light
Meant to fit moments like a glove.
Sonnets set the scene for samples
Of some sincerely sent greetings.
Noble nouns notice this ample
Nubian, since souls are treating.
Enthusiasm's example
Tramples inhibition's seating....

Since that first breath,
A step closer to death;
Yes it's a fact,
Dying is a sure tact.

Know this sure ease,
Fear tramples on pure peace;
Seek your pure bliss
Beyond all that and this.

Death brings fond rest,
But not an end to quest;
Each soul goes home,
Until life streams break dome.

Then in new urge,
A new journey brings surge;
A new tale springs
A brand new quest to fling.

Inferno
Tiresome trivial circumstances
Never ending failures
On far off decided chances
Treat life as a purgatory

When will favors be sent my way
An opportunity
An immeasurable means
Out of this deteriorating abyss

This perdition of myself
Condemnation of body, mind, life
Endless abandonment
No savior in line of sight

Tramples hopes and expectations
Knowingly participating
In a life of agonizing suffering
No future for everlasting nirvana...

"Down, down, down into the darkness of the grave Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind; " Edna St. Vincent Millay That which used to tiptoe is now stomping! Cleverly disguised, it strides purposefully proclaiming propoganda as it tramples our liberties. Good people everywhere – don’t despair, for Death shall deliver you . . . from madness. Collective Guilt
For the sake of lake, I climbed
on the weeping hills
to see the other side of moon.
The precipice of hunger weighs heavily
on shoulders.

Capricious time moves inwardly,
Strikes at the chest.
I set free the love-birds.

Conflict of trees tramples the grass
All summer the smell of dry winds
was scorching tear drops.
Every word was crying.

Dark in my city
I am wandering alone in alleys
of hostile homes.
The collective guilt of the flesh
blazes the mind.

A dozen questions?
You want to know more...

Confront the conflict
Seek to go deeper

Focus tramples feel
With a certain flick

Short circuit in cold trace
Recycle odds and ends

When darkness falls
Nothing much happens

Words tell a lie
In authentic fake

More of the same
In dying flames

Need I say more
To state my case?

Do you detect
A certain slack?

Or old furnishings
In a re-run coup?

The Russian bear never died
it was in prolonged hiber-nation
tending to western inflicted wounds
nibbling on yellow stars
gathering strength
waiting for an opening
waiting for weakness.

Now the bear feeds on the blood of women
each hectare of land it tramples.
Burying the soul of children.
The red bear hammers death into the lips of peace
While the red dragon spreads it's virus...

The aging harlot of the west.
On its spindly-oily knees
only tends to the stiffness of God....
