Premium Member A Lusty Bar-Maiden

There once was a lusty bar-maiden
Born in the Republic of Aden --
   You'd order your drink
   She'd give you a wink --
She hoped for a kiss on the trade-in

my old sports car’s
fun, eye-catching plates

tossed in the trunk of
my new sedan

part of my joy
unrenewed. . . . like
those vanity plates

One Dying Wish

Slit skin
Blue vein
Silence in a room shut in
Cutters pain
Mercy for an end
Over and over again
End just to begin
Angels and bloodstains
Heaven's trade in
One dying wish

The oldest trade in historical times
In many places it still is a crime
     Defrocked from their gowns
Some even took it lying down
It's the sad ladder of life some climb

Premium Member Preceding Ice-T

     The very first rapper preceded
       Ice-T by aeons and eons

     Though his rap-a-tap-tap
never earned him lights in neon

Humbly plying his trade in forests far
       from billionaire rapper stars

The woodpecker taps out his tune on trees
       ~ at times nearby, have a look-see

Rond Point

This is Rond Point, A multitude of people with a flare of cultures, An entropic junction with an atmosphere of trade in a fanfare of items, Standing still in this magnificent human-like iron statue, It has yet remained diverse in its people But unique in style, fashion and name! Rond Point Deido, the banks of the Wouri

Papa Last Words

When papa wanted to pass on
Though only God knows the unknown

But papa this day spoke like he knows
It's time and he will soon go

Lying in the field with me by his side
'My son, listen my son' he breathed when he slid

Yet papa had his soul with him by then
'Don't lift me up, just find me paper and pen'

"We met and trade in this world
And so we'll live it" he scribbled

Day Turns To Night

A new century waits as the minutes
 progress
into hours of vestibular begotten memory

My thoughts being counted although I
resist,
my feelings in service to what’s left behind

The sun and the moon trade in bartered
romance,
each jilting the other as day turns to night

Another year is recorded in the serpentine
past,
what’s seen a mirage—what’s measured retained

I'Ll Die Loveless, With Sixteen Cats

I'll never be normal, or a hot trophy wife
I'd rather die lonely than trade in my life
No stranger of lust but a virgin of love
It seems there is none who accepts me enough
Written by hand but never by mouth
Before being buried I'll dig my way out
I guess I'm too weird, but I'll never change
I can't find a soulmate who loves that I'm strange
Cupid's a leper, my heart, a taboo
I guess I'm not wired to love like you do

Deception

lies
deceptive words
neive?
truth vs lies
hideous words
backstapping
where is thy pride?
trade in your heart to the devil
sinful sins
honor thy word out of thy mouth
what is thy reward?
greed
betray my honesty and loyalty
kill this sprit of lies
open up your eyes
betrayal runs, through the deepest of blood
familes or close friends
give them wisdom and they will speak freely
betrayal is the core of bad apples

play dress up
with showers
treat your crown
to flowers
trade in the cold
for warmer hours

Understanding Me

Walk with me, my sister
I’ll tell you what I see
I’m holding the hand of my Mommy
Except she’s only 2 ½ yrs older than me

Don’t get me wrong, she’s brave
She had to tie chisels to her lace
Trade in pink and lavender
For the blue and black covering her face

They took her vanity fair
Where she used to sit and drink in her beauty
They gave her a toddler body to lug around
I became her undesired duty.
