History

Let's just end it and call it day
We'll lose touch and go our separate way
the end of us, the end of our chapter in history
where we end up is still just a mystery

Touch and Go

I went to different places
                                Have no place to go
                                      Bringing these few docs
                      Think I should say go

Hide and Seek

the clouds roll in
and hide the sun
touch and go
play hide and seek
they giggle
make a game of it
as clouds roll in
and hide the sun

Touch and Run

Sure you've heard the term, “touch and go” The phrase “touch and run”, is safer you know If you value your skin Better run like the wind An uninvited feely is frowned on, dear soul

Embrace the Line

A vivid scarlet scar snakes across her abdomen … It was touch and go when she went into premature labour Such a small price to pay for the safe delivery of her tiny baby son Contest – Embrace the Line sponsored by David Lindsay 06~28~16

The Late

In a humming white room
mother was up late but unresponsive.
Her face and body hooked into tubes,
We stood around whispering inanities
not listening to our words
just the gasping sounds
of the life support machinery.
A young nurse bustles in:
"Maybe tomorrow
Doctor says it's touch and go."

The next morning it was go
and we were late.

Touch and Go

throughout the day, the planes touch and go,
But where they go, I do not know.
Places far off, full of mystery.
How I want to be where those planes go.

Maybe one day I will keep up with them.
In the sky, flying far and wide.
All throughout the day, my plane would touch and go,
And where I would go, I would cherish it so.

Touch and Go

A sport that holds a special place in my heart,
A memory that will live with me from the start.
The day I hit my first home run,
I knew my hard work was not done.

Hard work, blood, sweat, and tear,
Poured into the game, as the fans still cheer.
As the end of the season is near,
I will be playing on the field one last time this year.

Unclear

I had the chance to look into your eyes
In busy days, in busy nights
But all I know is uncertainty.
You got a smile that could mesmerize
You tell stories that are hard to believe
But all I know is touch and go!
You came around and looked at me
We told many jokes seriously
But all I know is elusiveness.
You could be holy and a bit naughty
Make things better or worse
But all I know is ambiguity.

Ghosts of Dead Friends

voices laughing in my head
behind my dreaming vision
long past life and yet not dead
with friendly mock derision
they call to me as I awake
in wee small hours of morning
wry full glances secret smiles
and words that die aborning
absent minded days of week
slip into working hours
and cause a tear to wet a cheek
in memories of ours
It’s touch and go
and such a flow
of rushing wishing after
A jolt a jerk I’m back to work
in echoes of their laughter

Follow the Fire

Harken! blasts of thunder
pressurised magma sears
Pyroclastic hearts collapse
a spanner jams the gears

Distended fiery fissures
augur unquantified fears
Cataclysms bring rupture
down path’s not very clear

Aneurysms bursting veins
popped drums burning ears
Brain function touch and go
haemorrhage out red tears

Earth ripping itself asunder
black raw ground appears
Man plugs his inner wounds
holding on to love so dear

Virtual Reality

Just a touch and go,
To leave me to and fro,
It let the odds to grow,
Wait for tomorrow,
Tempts for a blind follow,
A momentary stop in tempo,
Questions my ego,
Is it a flop show?
Before my senses know,
Just as a sudden blow,
It is established long ago,
Dreams score too low,
Never ever will let it go,
But what if played a dido?
Virtual reality sings as flamingo,
Says listen in toto,
Don't oppose the wind flow,
Be cautious and go slow.

My Little Valentine

My fingers traced the lines on her face
as she slept; her beauty overwhelming.

The years had been touch and go, but
we made it somehow, and here we were,
still in love, my little Valentine.

That's what I called her all the time;
sweet as sugar and oh so fine
gooey and passionate leaving my
tastebuds satisfied completely.

She filled my desires and expectations always
I had no complaints
I leaned over to kiss her lips
One last time
My little Valentine.

Touch and Go

life is a game of tag
though we tend to play it wrong
we only ever want to pat, nudge along friends
when it could be even more fun to turn the whole wide world into a playground
making it a whole lot brighter

pass along kindness
at times you won't get very far before you're it
at other times it will be a long ways
but we won't care, just laughing along
for we will not be seeking sanctification
but joy
Touching hearts with goodwill
as we travel our journeys.

Touch and Go

there is no more, nor is there less
it's like Alice through the looking glass
I circumvented one of the rules
now off the table what left you unglued

back to the banter, the touch and go
an even keel back to what we know
teasing thoughts and passion screams
under the moon when you fall asleep

the monsoons pass and there's thunderless sky
moving from summer into cold winter nights
you get closer as you follow your dream
brushing past the valley with old memories
