Follow the Fire

Harken! blasts of thunder
pressurised magma sears
Pyroclastic hearts collapse
a spanner jams the gears

Distended fiery fissures
augur unquantified fears
Cataclysms bring rupture
down path’s not very clear

Aneurysms bursting veins
popped drums burning ears
Brain function touch and go
haemorrhage out red tears

Earth ripping itself asunder
black raw ground appears
Man plugs his inner wounds
holding on to love so dear

This is an impressively strong and well-crafted poem. What we're experiencing sounds like the end of the world right now, David. But love must be stronger than the most potent aspects of nature for mankind to survive the overwhelming obstacles we face on a daily basis.

Absolutely Lasaad you read my poem exactly as I intended, love must be inherently stronger than nature, for human beings to be resilient and thrive against its cataclysmic forces, I’ve been on a little hiatus from the soup, looking forward to getting writing again, cheers David

Heya Super Mo, always a pleasure to see you down this neck of the woods, indeed a fuel packed lunch, love being mankind’s antidote for the fires we must live through! Oui Oui! hope you’re keeping warm and well, cheers David

Imagery is probably a bit misleading Tom, what I’m really saying is love must be stronger than natures greatest forces, for mankind to struggle on through impossible difficulties we’re constantly bombarded with in life! Have a great weekend too, cheers David
