She was the merriest mermaid in the deep blue sea
Wish a swish of her tail, she showed how happy we could be
We other mermaids followed her about, looking for a key
To how she could retain her sense of delight; which confused me.

Her laugh tinkled across the waters with bubbles to behold.
She was excited about everything her life was big and bold.
We all wanted her confidence that would never grow old.
