Maybe Without...
Can’t see her face anymore when I think of
her. Not even her eyes.

Everything beyond myher reach, this
each day mundane way of life.

Still, you always told me
each day—each lie.
Back when, well…

And then maybe she’ll live. Perhaps she’ll
live.

Live to be transparent.

Winter Frolics
Awoke to see a snowy sight
Glistening pristine overnight
Joyful shouts, a child’s delight

An open doorway front and back
Welly footprints forming a track
Frosty breaths, a snowball’s thwack

Excited children with a plan
“Mum, may we build a huge snowman”
Inventive minds used trash can

It’s base, sturdy as a tree stump
Well covered with each snowy dump
Snow head a misshapen lump

Puck
My angered side decieves my eyes
All I focus on is abuse and lies

I can’t even escape this torments wave
Have I the soul of a warrior or slave?

Facing freedom looking at your face
While serving my sentence in this place

Fires, demons are casted before me
Taking my refuge with some more fee

A spine shattering “thwack” with a whip
Causes me to lose my grip

For my soul has a new master
Puck is here to begin his laughter?...

Thrice a Widow
She's thrice now had a scarlet groom
Adorned in silk this dusty room
She sobbed away sorrows in black
	When she discovered the knapsack
In gold and pearls, did sorely lack
And her head and palm greeted, smack!
Like his body met the floor, thwack!
The house empty, less her they track
Hardened heart, hollowed like a tomb
Was it lover's spat or planned doom?
