What a Blast

Russia has just shattered our space
So we must find another place
Where we can orbit
Sucking our sorbet
As we think up how to save face

Challenged

Listen here Jack I have to admit
When given a challenge I never quit
I'll think up some stuff
It won't be real tough
I'm quick with the draw and with the wit

Would Squint Wherever He Went Horn Haiku

Would Squint Wherever He (She) Went

Wherever he (she) went
Fine friend and benevolent
With eyes which would squint.

James Thesarious Hilarious Nefarious Horn

Unless you can think up a better name.

To Inspire and Delight

If I were an animal
  I'd elect to be man
Then I could think up
  all sorts of great plans

To advance the cause
  of my entire tribe
To inspire and delight
  -- I'd never proscribe

I'd need to compete
  that much I know
But I won't complain ~
  that's how my tribe grows

A Poem Back To Front

A poem back to front
It's never done
Because
Once you start
You never stop the fun
And stopping just to see
What you might do
You never know
What an author might tell you
So listen closely to
That which I say
Please think about the words
I speak each day
A poem back to front

Not Sure

Building fantastic feats of engineering
Constructing classic beats
For the inner hearing
I'm a pioneer of futuristic steering
Always greeted by superhero cheering

Or at least that's what
I like to think up in my head
Am I writing in my dreams again
Or sending messages from the dead?

He Told You Not To Read Me

He told you not too read the words I write,
have a think about what he must be like.

I have never even spoke to the man,
why would he think up this plan

Going out of his way too tell you
that’s not something nice people do

For no reason he is being mean
I guess you’re bitter when life’s Green

If Ya Can'T

If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em.
If ya can't join 'em, bribe 'em.
If ya can't bribe 'em, blackmail 'em.
If ya can't blackmail 'em, kill 'em.

If ya can't kill 'em...
well, that bridge will come
just think up a plan
and pray it works
if not....
ya in doo-doo
better get mommy to kiss that boo-boo

Peacin' out ya'll!

Persevere

I've been trying to write a poem
Just to exercise my mind.
But it seems to take forever
Just to think up a couple of lines.

I find it so irritating
That I've wasted some much time
But in the end its been well worth it
Especially when the words all rhyme.

A Linen Universe

Today we can get lost in my bed.
We can build a fortress of pillows and sheets.
Today we can think up whole worlds beneath my blankets,
Worlds with people who have lives that I cannot yet imagine.
Maybe if we get lost there we might find someone I could be.
Then when we leave,
Maybe,
If we leave,
It will no longer be pretend.

FALL DOWN ON THE FROZEN GROWN

IAS WE THINK BACK ON OUT MISTAKES

MY MIND BEGAIN TO THINK UP ALL THE PASS ACHE

NOW IT IS A COLD PLACE IN MY HEART FOR YOU.

Jesting Joking Jovial and Jolly

Jesting without manifesting
Joking without spending or investing
Jovial and fair
Jolly times in the air
Living as I dare
Showing that I care

Words delight me, incite me,
Inspire and light me
Jesting, joking, jovial, and jolly
hickery dickery, dolly and holly
Jumping, twirling and swirling in my brain
If this were a song, I’d think up a refrain

Another Trump Trap Horn Haiku

See my golf road map
Have horrible handicap
Fell into Trump's trap.

Was 138 feet to reach hole
And contest was for hole in
one for 150 feet or more.
What will Trump think up
next. Real challenge to
listen to TV news and come
up with a poem about it. I
am sure he was heartbroken
and used that for a category.

Happen

Does life happen to you? Or do you happen to life?
Do you dwell on the bad? or marinate in the strife?
You can focus on the negative, but that's so primitive
So what I want to give is something so limitless
There are harsh realities, but some we just make up
Mixed up in a cup, shake up and drink up
Give this a think up when your down in the dumps
It's how we survive through all of life's little hiccups

How Do People Think Up Titles, Or Do Anything?

It is the soul
Twixt in motion,
Bended by dreams,
Sinuously thoughtling
Round the the palms and it's breeze
And lo how the old eaves glow
And the rhythm chords the drums in its
Senseless doing,
As the maker decides the making of the doing
The maker makes in the doing,
As the bubble swells and bells and sbwells
And then bursts.
And you feel the rise again. The swaying of the breeze,
And your soul.
And its trees.

Dresser Designed By An Artesian

It was the dresser few could have visualized
I spotted it in the flea market as fantasized
Patterns most would have been able to think up or paint
Created by an artesian whose designs are never faint

This dresser had a signature, not any kind of surprise
So marvelously orchestrated it nearly hurt my eyes
It was a gorgeous dresser, which would look great by my bed.
I only paint one of a kind things, the artist apologetically said.

Unspoken Words

Words will never convey my thoughts
What I so want to say to her
It often leaves me overwrought
My mind becomes a hopeless blur.
Her comely grace and pleasing eyes
Her sweet amicability
Leaves me goggle-eyed and tongue-tied
when I look upon her beauty.
At home I think up words to say
Articulating syllables
Spoken in a well mannered way
But deem them unacceptable.
The hardest thing for me to do
Is utter three words, “I love you.”

Slew of Hearts

Sickeningly unstable,
disheartened we stand
like brave little cowards
with solid, shaky hands.

We make declarations out loud,
oaths beautifully fall out of
our mouths.
Even the most significant pledges cannot be guaranteed
as our minds think up promises our hearts can't keep.
We're just a slew of hearts,
pounding no good hearts.
We're just a slew of hearts.

We're just a bunch of slayed, pounded hearts.
Just a slew of hearts.

Chicago School's Cool

I really like school
  In Chicago, it's cool

Boot the computer
  Log into Zoom
Then do whatever
  I want in my room

No shoes on my feet
as I think up a tweet
If I'm oversexed
  I fire off racy texts

Yes, Ma'am, homework's done
  It really was fun ~
Every answer's online
  It's easy to shine

Time for lunch break
  A couple hours I'll take
To hijack two cars
  And then hit the bars

I really like school
  In Chicago it's cool

I Didn'T Want To Write This Poem

I didn’t want to write this poem
Of twenty children dead.
I’d much prefer composing words
Of pleasant things instead.

I didn’t want to think up rhymes
For evil, horror, shock;
I’d like to hide those images
Behind a mental block.

I didn’t want to conjure up
A classroom filled with death,
Or parents of those kindergartners
Struggling for breath.

I didn’t want to write of those
Who heard each awful shot.
I didn’t want to write this poem
But then, how could I not?

Escape

a beautiful little mountain retreat
a perfect place to get away
leave our jobs and stress behind
while we make up games to play

pretending we are kids again
laughing and fooling around
kissing on the love-seat
after turning the lights down

snuggling under a blanket
in front of the fireplace
the fire light reflected
on ivory satin lace

talk about a great escape
when you can leave it all behind
and act on all the fantasies
we think up in our minds
