I wear shoes only when I have too,
those torture devices from the pit of hell
barely fit for winter when the weather is bitter.

Cheap Eats

you participate in the pit,
seeking prize but leaving
disappointment.
your words are a labor to read,
your heart a clash and havoc.

Premium Member Flavors of Winter

Rich hot chocolate
marshmallows roast o’er the pit
gazing China moon
twinkling stars in midnight blue
laughter and snuggling galore!

Fear Unbraced

Fear unbraced,
Not in the pit of my stomach
But the cheeks of my face
Uncertainty quite abated
Superfluous words make me somnambulated.
Form: Verse

Intution

I see with my eyes wide open,
I see with my eyes closed tight,
I can see in the dark and the blinding light,
I see from the pit of my gut.

THE OLD ROCKING CHAIR

MOM AND DAD STILL HOLD HANDS

AT TENDER AGE 92

WATCH THE PIT FIRE

NOTHING MORE TO DO

BUT SITTING IN THOSE

OLD ROCKING CHAIR'S

Rainbow

Foolish virtue,
Flying with vultures.
Stupid light,
Shining in darkness.
dirty pig,
Dancing on the pit.
Flags of rainbow,
Hoisted in Sodom.

Premium Member Rattling the Rattler

a baby hit a rattler with its rattle
the rattler was startled so it rattled
the babe loaded a diaper
and perfumed the pit viper
that's how a babe beat a snake in battle

Premium Member The Pit and the Pendulum

The pendulum springs, the head is cluttered

The pendulum sings, the head is fluttered

The pendulum swings, the head is levered

The pendulum stings, the head is severed

A.P.E.

A whole rush of emotions
in a short period of time
all sit now
in the pit of my stomach
A moment of proud tears
to total hurt and disgust
about a 'joke' that meant so much

Fear

Fear is the pit we crawl into when we can't find a way out.
It is like crawling into a hole and pulling the hole in behind you.
It hides us, but it doesn't protect us.

Eap-Frustration

The blood boiled
In the pit of frustration set ablaze
With the wrath and the rage of the day’s
Constant commotion—can’t clear the haze
Of chaos causing and creating this craze.

Premium Member Rib-Eye Steaks On the Pit

Rib-eye steaks are on the pit
    Seasoned with dad’s rub
Are you all ready to grub
       Meat will fall off bone
      One bite, it’ll be gone
          Then drink Ice,
                  Tea!

A Heavy Heart

i know you have
a heavy heart
it sinks into the pit
of your stomach

it weighs you
down, hunches
you over while
you heave for
breath

i know your heart is heavy
but it doesn’t have to be

The Independent Woman

The independent woman

Prejudiced in Eden
Scorned in time
Lame and down the pit
But still journeys West
With a vindictive heart
Swims in vileness
Reckons laughter in the pogrom
And clings to the spell of courage

Renewal

The old peach sat on the lawn,
while the others have all gone.
In Winter it will rot away,
leaving only the pit on Springs first day.
by Summer it will have grown again,
making more to write with my tired pen.

The Mystery of Mind

Hidden in my mind
  deeper than depth of ocean
down to the pit of abyss
Secret of a kind
  how universe in motion
    churns up the heavenly bliss!

       band’s in the pit

The Great Abyss

Things are all around
I start slipping down and down
World is still spinning...

Falling down the pit.
Every time I get the slip.
No light in sight here.

The great abyss sits
Before me, a gaping hole.
My life flashes now.

Premium Member 'a Dead Man's Skull

A wicked wick of tallow lit
witch's sacrifice remit,
smoky tapered candles fit
in a dead man's skull a writ.

Eyes ablaze Satan permits,
the single soul to rest a bit,
and blood runs-- into the pit
in candle light the witches flit.

The Devil's Playground

Breaking boredom feeds my mind,
Pushing out my creative drive.
These idle hands come to play,
Mocking and cajoling,
Caring and consoling.
Time tells the mortal cost,
Confusing ties as hands make knots,
Always avoiding the pit that rots.

Night Sickness

I'm making myself sick
from the pit of my stomach
I feel like I'm losing you
And everything I have
How can I correct this wrong?
I know you're just trying to disconnect
I'm not making this easy, I know
And I make myself sick every night
