Our time to release

frail shadows tremble on winter’s garden wall where limbs of bare trees sway

after winds surcease - heavy with tranquility. . . trees with ermine coats

Fall's levitating leaves, wafting on gentle breeze. Each one vainly believes it can fly high with ease. Colors beg hearts to cease! Kaleidoscopic trees wave wild without surcease, flailing sleeveless chemise, bringing one to one's knees. Radiant days to please!

Context
Somnolescent crystals fade into my consciousness
Effervescent, all elixir drains down into this
So have I felt the pouring down
Of stream on stream of empty soul
So have I heard the hollow sound
Of what was once a whole

Tear on tear drops down to seas
Of surcease, empty memories
All I've seen lies here before me
When is where I cease
   To be...

Premium Member Thine Angelic Presence

Thou art my forevermore, blessed angel.
So soft, so tender, beyond human measure.
Yes, and oh, again, yes!
Wrap those comely, warm wings all about me!
Profound comfort and a rainbow peace.
In thine arms alone, comfort and a surcease.
I become your sole, crystal, devoted treasure.

With all my love~

In Your Arms
My darkest day somewhere does creep Against unseen foe I must verily leap To fight my demons hidden deep Within your waiting arms you let me weep The pain now lessened that I keep Then slowly heal the wounds that seep Through love a light that twilight reaps With you my days surcease in tranquil sleep Brians Select E contest 2nd place

Premium Member A Gentler Path
Shielded by dark clouds
  from suspicious sun's glare
She slipped out the door
Took him up on his dare

To find a gentler path
  a rose amidst thorns
To turn her life around
  To wake up every morn

To the voice of birds singing
  to a world at peace
No more screams ringing
  from Pain a surcease

He awoke, she was gone
  lightning bolts rent his dawn...

A Winter Evening Commute
The winter darkness falls before the day
Has run its course, long ere the eyes of those
Who labor seek surcease from weariness.

The home-bound traffic winds its halting way
Beneath the moon-bound Evening Star and slows—
A mess.

And so I sit with promises to keep,
Ensnarled within a concrete wilderness
As news and music streams from radios.

At last the exit home—to eat, to sleep,
And rest....

Everyone loves spring; the first green, sunshine,
The ecstasy of birth.

Summer; the earth is bountiful, days of splendor,
 ”The living is easy”.

Fall is about color; harvest, appreciation
and preparation.

Winter; icy beauty, a time of ardent emotion, reflection
And surcease.
The last season, like an only child, is
loved in the moment, and filled with
       hope for the future....

When'Er I Touch Your Hand
When'er I Touch Your Hand by Rick Rucker When'er I touch your hand, I'm transported to a Magic Land! One that contains only Peace, And, from all pain, surcease. I don't know where it lies, You touch me, and I close my eyes! I don't think it can be far, I don't believe we arrive by car. Nor can it be by ship, It is far too quick a trip! Perhaps this Magic Land, Exists solely due to sleight of hand!

A Good Clean Break
realities routine's are a stone crusher
all of it
the jobs
the relationships
the striving
the failing
the achievements (I'm guessing)
and more begets more
all the do's of you hafeta do
you can get tired beyond exhaustion
tired of your self
your thoughts (if you are inclined to that sort of thing)
and relief is much needed
some quiet
a long walk
to
the middle of
nowhere
some surcease
the compassion of a dog's eyes...

One day, it all ended,
Her bubble was burst!
She wondered if she were
somehow accursed!

It was just reality, kicking her
in the pants.
She begin to meditate and stop
all the worthless rants.

Music soothed her saddened,
sore soul.
A cup of chamomile tea and a
dainty cinnamon roll.

Ah, then she could pen, it was
her release.
That poetic palace of eternal
surcease!

Consequences
Struck void the will of intellect,
against such pondering,
the injured spirit to protect.
No tangled reminisce provides,
Surcease to turnings
of such tortured mind.
Nor time-fogged recall
that guide requires -
So indelibly scored, Regret's cold ire.

And soul bereft of all hope of gain,
Forsakes Intention's road,
for one paved in self - disdain.
And all the way,
the mocking laugher never fades.
'Sleep well now, in this bed you've made.'...

Interesting, is it not? How some bring a symphony to your poetic soul? With magic artistry, there soft hands create a mystical journey. They need not say one word. You swim in peace with just a look in the mystery of their eyes. The invocation of their hands is  a call to peace Almost like a lullaby, you find surcease. The flickers of the fireplace, the Christmas tree! Into legendary clouds go thee! 12/15/2020

leaving home

tell tales of courage
hope and faith my
mind will not hold these
sliding thoughts tonight.

tonight I am afraid
it has been growing
 in my gut all day
 tying myriad knots
like a crazed boy scout.

I am afraid with no surcease
it is paralyzing me
binding me into the woman
I do not know.

write, write,
scribble her out
it is my only way of
battle, expose the witch.

fear is corrosive
and scuttles through
my night an alien
awaiting me tomorrow....
