A Flutter
Succulent the host
beating heart sups in mid sky

Premium Member Along Came a Spider Contest
A tree spider sat waiting
in the hollow of a trunk
in ambush for her prey
by stealth she would eat

no web just camouflage
patiently she waits
along came a lizard
she pounces on it

Darting with her sting
which starts dissolving
the flesh of her prey
she happily sups

Thirst
As the panting deer sups
from the stream of water,
filled up refreshed and
restored.

I hope that I to
can find that refreshment
in this life.

I find plenty fresh
water every day, though it
escapes me. I'm still dry
inside, what is this thirst?

How do I quench it? Where
do I find living water? Point
me in the right direction to
change my life....

Premium Member Grief
Grief sups away the nectar
That gives life its industry
And mocks the nature of a soul
To define mortality.

It rises from... I know not where
To shake us to the core
Bringing passion to our heartache
As the wolf stands astride the door.

But like the tide... it ebbs and flows
With no thought for you or me
And no matter how we suffer...
It ponders endlessly.

               The End...

Paradox
The rich man sups his Cognac
As he sits and relaxes
Complaining in his mind about
The level of his taxes,
Congratulates himself
On the amounts
Secreted away in
Offshore Accounts,
Wines and dines his Advisor
Just to show his thanks.
The poor man shows his gratitude
For his local Food Banks.
Both profess Christianity
Which seems an oxymoron
Or are the Camel and eye of needle
Out of date and long forgotten....

Premium Member Always a Widow
Here squats a Black Widow spider,
who sups a swig of sweet cider.
     He spies her there,
     scoots close to share
and sips the hot brew beside 'er.

She darts with aim to devour,
her size gives her lethal power.
     She fakes a hug,
     then snags him snug;
true bliss defines his last hour.

For some who deceive are gifted
to mask when power is shifted.
     The prey's surprise—
      he's soon incised—
his parts all broken and sifted....
