MY atmos and cells are tired
of the weight of life and time
I ask good God for strength
and so I live stoically, forward...!

Light Verse
I walk stoically through life
with complete certainty of arriving at
some good place... when... I don't know!

Epigram
Stoically he sat
keeping the tears static
in his misty eyes while
my tears burst like rain clouds.
We let time pass, then rose
to leave the theater.

Words are birds
flying against the sun,
fly and come from heaven
to the ground...
words acquire ink
with the rain and the air,
ending in poetry
that I transcribe them here...
stoically!

It would be easier
endure the world
on the back,
if each one volunteered
with his own shoulder
resiliently,
stoically...

beauty, flying, garden, insect, magic, word play,
A Dragonfly's Touch! Haiku
Dragonflies flew to me now
They know I am true-blue
With patented fly-byes
They stoically ‘fashion'
Inspiring visits

Sitting stoically
Two furry faces
Gaze upon faded photos.
Once cherished,
Hugged, wept over,
Drooled on
Forever friends
Now
Silent sentinels
Chewed ears
Button eye
Pablum stained
Guardians
Of a fading
Moment.

Saturday
A sad rain teases the windows
Spring worms wriggle gleefully
Robins do a wing shake flash dance
Wet squirrels shake their tails
The cat paws at the litter box
Dogs in tiny raincoats hide their faces
The garden Buddha stoically drips
I ponder the rings of my coffee cup
Saturday

when she left
emerald spears
lay rusting
in the ground
partially veiled
by lost companions
shed skeletons
stoically stand skyward
stabbing space
silence captures all
as water flakes
fall quietly to the tarp
crackling fuel
in the room’s womb
melts the chilled void
she left behind

Vibes ride high tide
Inside minds eyes
Spilling up within sky
Limitless without divide
Onward gracious hearts
Beating pumping art
Souls breathe eternally
Against grain breaking free
Community eloped within thee
Hands fall upwards stoically
Pores elate priceless synergy
The chemistry the chemistry

Constantly and
stoically
we climbed the real
mountain...
In the tough climb
of life...
Because we became
obsolete,
as we pass
from the present,
to hodiernal
future...

Daily and
stoically
we climbed the mountain
real...
on the strong climb
of life...
Well we came
from the past,
and so we passed
of the present,
for today
future...

A cardinal was perched outside my window this morning
The sun shone brightly after a long night of storming
Stoically, it sat alone in a barren tree
As I slowly sipped from my tea cup, it turned and looked at me
Then suddenly, it turned back as it peacefully flew away
A coy smile dressed my face as I thought, "It's going to be a good day."

There are no paths to happiness,
However, backpack on the back,
Eyes fixed on chance,
And the boots on the road,
Discover them
stoically, leniently...
strive, start again until exhaustion
it is worthwhile ...!

daIly,
stoically
we climb real
Mountain
on foot...
on the crucial climb
of life...
because we came
of long ago,
and we passed
from the present,
into the unknown
future...

Light Verse
Ever it was, so let it be
The sun, moon, stars
Venus and Mars
And man's heart, stoically.
Ever it shall, so let it say
When upon morning's light
Struggles, sacrifice, fight
Over love hold sway.
Ever it will, so if I must
Bend impossibly unbroken
Give more than yet token
Yea, risk all my being, on trust.
Ever it is, so let us be
You were, I was, we are
And having journeyed far
Our horizon beckons wantonly.

In life we all have to choose
No matter your options
It's something you can't refuse
Choose to stand
Choose to fall
Choose to rise above it all
Choose to live
Choose to die
Choose the truth
Choose to live a life of lies
Choose to lose
Choose to fight
Choose to quit
Choose it all to begin
Don't sit stoically like a statue
It's your life
It's your light to choose
To either fade away
Or to come alive in

I do not know?
(A dedication)
Pain wracked torture
She suffered
with degradition smeared
was inhumanely beaten and batted
and consistently incarcerated
she stoically endured
All for her love
of her land
Her persistence
was not in vain
through her efforts
Kenya's green belt grew
over forty-million
trees were planted
all through her motivational strive
Mother Wangari Maathai's
inspiration lives and thrives
Yet still to this day.

Outstretched on all toes and both elbows
How long will the body remain suspended, only a man's will knows
Blood pressure and stress coming down
In this ephemeral stillness, better health is found
With deep breaths in and long breaths out
Better posture and balance are achieved, no doubt
Elevated focus, awareness, and a waistline that's shrinking
Never mind the stoically static body that's away from the floor, just know the owner is planking

TOXIC STATE Double Acrostic
Troubling terribly
Opting to overcome.
X-axis and Y-axis of mind distorted,
Indicating
Chaos or crazy connivance.
Stoically shattered sick
Totally turbulent.
Arid abusive
Tottering torpidity
Enraged erratic.

Acrostic
She stood stoically fighting
the disease that crept through
her dry trunk
Sapping her life,
withering her leaves,
leaving her naked limbs
silhouetted against the
summer moon.
Her Roots retracting from the
moist soil
lose their grip on the earth
Until slowly, imperceptibly,
She leans
She falls
Lying in her lost leaves
her resting place accepts her
Embracing her death
with its life
Slowly, imperceptibly
She is subsumed
Until
Under a summer moon
A sapling grows

Blank verse
Awaken
in the pit of his stomach
an animalistic fear
a dread of death
The brain denies this
feeling, stoically accept
the inevitable
Yet, the fear persists
waking him up at night
Dark is the bedroom
so cold
widows have frost roses
He walks about
in the living room
drinks a glass of water
in the kitchen
He goes back to bed
but keeps
the night light on
a mellow light
gives him comfort
No, he is not alone
in the vastness
of space

A chicken at the crossroads
I declined
to venture anywhere
outside my mind
and so I sat beside a Buddha stoned
to stoically espy on all mankind.
The mindless click of crickets
drove me mad
‘neath tears of weeping willows
why so sad?
life’s ebb and flow left marks
time can’t erase
added character
to a now nameless face.
So it would seem
a silent wish was granted
when I was told to
“bloom where you were planted”.
