Notes About The Poem

For Nette Onclaud's Some Kind Of Misty Poetry Contest

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His Misty Eyes

Stoically he sat
keeping the tears static
in his misty eyes while
my tears burst like rain clouds.
We let time pass, then rose
to leave the theater.

Luv this. You play with the reader's mind, and win ! I have seen this simple brilliance in many of your poems. Kudos.

I blame E.T. Last line caught me out… I’d envisaged a breakup

What a resonant image here, Andrea. Ain't it the truth?... Great contest entry, methinks. ~ Gershon

That is the way of it isn't it, Andrea? My husband is the same way, he will sit stoically forbidding the tears that threaten him, and I am like a cloud burst. Of course, I am the kind to cry during moving commercials, at least in the old days when I actually watched tv! I'm a crybaby, so I prefer comedies ;)

Actually. I am the man in this poem. My husband might spill the tears!!
