Stomach in a knott
Got the jitters
Got the runs
Anxiety on its high.

Made a choice to recite
Poetry of the night
Heart pounding
Knees shacking
Eyes bulging

MOTHER
This decision isn't right
Crowd staring

Looking scared
Holding onto the mic

 but that's quite alright.

As band equiptment does get set,
I look out at our audience

To go out there and play
