Crisp leaves gaily dance
As red and gold parchment gowns
Swirl on Autumn winds

Dress in your purples, your pinks and your whites
To swirl a soiree of foliage brights.
June beams balmy moon gazing nights

mystique of Winter-white wings - soiree of doves
long string of pearls dangling over décolletage
ample hat covers her eyes with doveyness
intricate lace, feathers, flower, flowing, sensual, sensational
graceful dusk dancers
in step with the summer breeze
an evening soiree
fragrant bouncing blooms
along with green nighttime trees
undulate wildly
tall grasses quiver
birds dip while immersed in song
in firefly spotlights
Dusk birds in clover
the purple fields of rich song
Gold day was so long
Flying in fragrance, darkly
mingling at evening's soiree
Through sweet green, dimly
on the summer night of nights
as red Mars wanders
Nebulous shapes flit moon hours
Avian verve in flowers
SERPENTS’ SOIREE

Slinking silently, a slithering sight,
Seven silly snakes, under starlit night,
Sassy scales shimmering, shining so bright,
Sipped sweet scotch, subtle, smooth, and smokey,
Seeking to score and swap silly stories.
The ability
the agility
to cause your humility
you lose stability
as I show no civility
It is the will of me
Its like a pill to me
a hypnotic narcotic
you become neurotic
my lyrics they frolic
dancing ballet
your ears my valet
to my poem soiree
you expected fast food
I fed you gourmet.

respite from summer

Sunset sleeps gently
embracing creamsicle clouds
golden eyes weave dreams.
Yellow horizon
Heaven's shadowed silhouette
twilight canopy.
Potpourri of light
Earthly umbrella sundown
magical painting.
Sheer magnificence
silky cornucopia
flame glows God's sweet breath.

August, thou art not so kind
As the sweet soiree of May or June
You lack the patience that I find
In September’s hearty harvest moon
August, how you burn me so
While December’s embers play it cool
July can’t even spurn me so
And April’s yet a showered, flowered fool
August, thou art not so harsh
As the icy jaws of January
Warmer still than windy March
Or the frosty fangs of February.
SQUIRREL’S SOIREE

Sam the squirrel, sprightly and spry,
sought a soirée under the sapphire sky.
With acorn appetizers and nutty delights,
he danced with delight through the dappled night.
Chirping chums and critters abound,
cackles and chuckles, a charming sound.
In a twirl of tails and a flurry of feet,
Sam spun in circles, a soiree sweet.
The Seagull Soiree
Is underway
At least a thousand of them
Fill the sky
In seemingly haphazard
Flight
Stopping and starting
As they’re darting in the air
But perhaps they are really doing
Their farewell dance to summer
Swirling whirling
Laughing and squawking
Their avian talking
As they head off
To parts unknown
So long, Summer Seagulls
Until we meet again

Form:
Dust laden window grilles,
Lime scales on the shower door.
Detritus below the fragmented doors,
Commiserating the saudade and furor.
Blackened cushions besmirched with dirt,
dusty sheath peeping thru sleek curtain pleats.
Scalloped valance swaying and bewailing in silent grief.
Scattered around are the pages of the brief.
Culaccino marks on the table,
Shriveled up and dried plants silently standing in a row,
A zestful soiree, which took away all the glow long ago!
