Pent-up hearts release longing sighs
Winter's paused to reveal blue skies
Spring stirs for a moment, then wonders
When snowfalls will tear her asunder...

Worthy
Snowfalls on a desert,
And a bud peeps through the ice,
Realization creep into me,
With a question,
'Am i worth this life?'
Men have found answers
For all the unsolved equation.
A sailor still finds his treasure,
Even if takes years on the ocean,
But still the question,
'Am i worth this life?'
                     -Avee...

What does Grass do
  When winter comes to town
Does it shiver its timbers
  Does it freeze underground

Why no! Grass is first-class
  How else could it last
Through snowfalls so deep
  No sunlight dare seep...

Grass dons fancy jacket and hat
Wad of bills and all that
Bows to winter's autocrat ~
  Who adjusts the thermostat...

Winter
Just having fun with words and free poetry - kind of like a free verse front/end acrostic-

W inds howling through prairie grasses	Warning
I mpending snowfalls and hail will be Icing
N ightly with cold gripping hands, Nipping
T reetops, stripping them and Thieving
E ventually erasing all color, whilst Etching
R ootless imprints 'til next season’s Rendezvousing...

Winter
An Acrostic

Weekends party in the warm house drinking hot chocolate.
Ice skates gliding on the ice whistles.
Numerous springs arise lakes streams now frozen.
Terrible snowstorms thaw.
Early snowfalls tire small animals hide.
Routine isolation carry tis the season to be merry.

Premium Member Twigs Shaped Like V's
The sun sends forth her fiercest rays
Yet no warmth is felt this December day
The wind chills my bones, though the heavens are blue
Trees, bare of leaves, offer unrestricted views

of twigs at the end of tiny branches, shaped like V's
In Spring they'd be buds, now -- veins and capillaries
framed 'gainst the backdrop of that raw clear-blue sky
Poised for coming snowfalls, my heart wants to die...

Flitting's like floating
only with
the least amount
and most
ineffectual
intention.

Intention
without
clarity
without
conviction
without
direction
without
without.

Each waft
a contravention.

Somersault of
summer
butterflies,
but better:
butterflits...

Plummer salts
of Winter,
snowfalls
but better:
snowflits...

Though flitting's
altogether fitting
if near-enough
to Surrender
is your kind of
Splendor....

The Shortest Day-Coldest Year
The shortest day of the year
Winter solstice cold icy air
Nibble at my skin
Dec. 21st two thousand ten

It’s cold in the south
Overseas in Europe, mammoth snowfalls
Hundreds of planes grounded
And thousands of people marooned

It’s wet in the California
Heavy rains, flood lands
Take over sundry homes, folks wading waters
Cars congested, mired traffic

In the winter chaos
A lunar eclipse spectacular
Captured the minds of countless
Won’t chance again till Dec. 10th 2011...
