Premium Member Choppy Seas and Wobbly Knees
When you sail a sloop in slop,
be prepared to stop, regroup;
time spent on the choppy seas
throws you for a loop, makes wobbly knees.

Untitled #151 / An Anchor-Hold
But before I could enjoy such a moment
I first had to put my sloop into port,
just as the ship of my soul must now
find an anchor-hold, somewhere in
this vast ocean of melancholy blue, so deep

Latest Scope Should Join Poetry Group
have heard latest scoop
do join poetry group
then should have some soup
(take ride on a sloop)
(stand under a stoop)
(around start to troop)
(be thrown for a loop)
(clean poop from a coop)

Only a Fool For Trump Horn Limerick
Only A Fool for Trump Horn Limerick

Only a fool for Trump did fall
Pretends to think that protocol

Bustling River
Elizabeth: squat river with cranes, tugs, wharfs abristle,
Its broad, deep-dredged breadth plied by warship and merchant mammoth,
Ships with haughty grandeur gliding along buoyed channel—
Lofty titans sneering down on collier, barge, sloop at sail
And, on fog-bound nights, soothing sleepers with moans baritone.

This Is Key West
Sunlight dances on dew.
A cock crows in the distance.
The faded scent of the sea
     escorts my morning stroll.

As I pass the dock,
my step keeps time to the
gentle moan of a sloop in tether
     and the island emerges.

The turquoise promise of infinite sky
     beckons me
and I wonder what
     will be of the day

A faint rumble of pots and pans
     confirms my suspicion
 of coffee and bacon
     and draws me in.

I think,
      This is Key West....
