Premium Member Sliding Door Moment
Sliding my door open
Peeking in through to see if you’ll be coming through
My heart beats beyond racing beats
My eyes wide open to see you through the door of my sliding door
Moments of touch and soft caress of love
Brazenly drive my heart towards you
Waiting for you to come through my sliding door moment...

Premium Member Mr Ollie the Ginger Cat
on the beanbag he sleeps
curled up circle of fur
dry food he crunches
by the glass sliding door
ever alert looking around
leaps five feet of the ground
to take a mark
between his front paws
as he lands, he spills the bowl
of dry food and some of the milk
on the saucer
he eats the fly
is pleased with himself
cleans himself
on the beanbag he sleeps...

The Moment the Birds Came In
on my laptop tranquilly typing
when life the strange showrunner threw
two swallows in my living room through
the open sliding door and i can’t believe
it angular bodies cut like diamonds they
flutter and chirp looking like tattoos
come to life on my white ceiling their black
wings like exclamation points like it’s a
cartoon and i’ve been knocked out i’m stupefied
and the birds fly out....

Premium Member Black Bear
A black blur of movement, caught my eye
I looked out the window to see a young black bear walk by
I was on the phone and I spoke so loud through an open sliding door
It ran away because they do not like loud noise
It is one of the best defenses from any harm
There was no time for a photo as it disappeared into the woods
They visit my yard each summer and this time it was late
It is a sight to see each summer, but worth the wait
