Healing Powers of Time
Time heals all wounds,
But seems to me - somehow,
It also shortens life a lot....

As time shortens
The aisles fill
Hollow-eyed scavengers
Prowling ransacked shelves
The challenge
Of the “tic-toc” clock
Santa will get the credit
They will get the debit
As they sit deluded
Batteries not included

My Heart
My heart skips
A beat when
I see you
My breath shortens
When you say hello
When you look
At me and smile
A feeling of love
Whisks me away
far, far away
Just listening to
The sound of your voice
Gives me goose bumps
All over my body...

Depth
Musk sodden jackets
Pulled tight
round
icicle pricked skin
Wind snakes its way
past collar and wrist
shedding skin on spine
Sunlight loses time
Winter counting seconds
as stripping leaf from tree and vine
Amber lies divine
Frozen breath
shortens in air
forced through fingers
to create some warmth
to spare...

doesn't shortens does not
does the opposite of can't
dance the can can
are two duels happening at the same time dual duels
my tail of tales are planely plain
trying to keep it reel
really
try not to ball you're i's out

hour write to play with words...

Two Wings
I’m a two-winged poet
  not just single-wing

And would never clip one
  to fly into this wind

As one wing goes up
  the other comes down

Until both work together
  when flying most proud

The zero-sum landing
  with talons so tight

Only shortens the glide path
  and ruins the flight

(Villanova Pennsylvania: July, 2016)...

Rapture In Flight
I’m a two-winged poet
  not just single-wing

And would never clip one
  to fly into this wind

As one wing goes up
  the other comes down

Until both work together
  when flying most proud

A zero-sum landing
  with talons not right

Only shortens the glide path
  —and ruins the flight

Echoes of Hope
Nestling behind the dark clouds is a glimmer.
A spark though far can be seen a million miles away.
One grasp and the journey towards healing is ignited.
One step towards it shortens the journey of a weary pilgrim.
Though life’s baggage contain rustlings of challenges,
There is always the echoes of hope if we still our minds and look hard enough....

Wonderful autumn colours
Enhance the branches,
Shrubs and bushes,
Hedges, trees.

The leaves have done
Their summer work
Of cleansing air
And feeding vegetation.

As daylight shortens
Leaves downwards sail
Recycling
Into needy soil.

A glorious process
God’s design
Without which
All of poor mankind
Would lifeless sink
And see no more
His glory
In autumn.

Sands
Time took my baby
and later took my pain
now it shortens time it takes
till I see her again

When I'm feeling heartache
living pure misery
Time can bleed away the hurt
that eats away at me

Time isn't perfect
it won't erase the pain
as long as there are memories
the hurt will rise again

Time took my darling
and now it's taking me
So now I'm waiting to arrive
at my final destiny...

Use Time Expediently Written: by Miracle Man 5/13/2024 Yesterday’s are always unforgiving, for hourglass sand can’t defy gravity. Thoughts should be on time we’re living, we shouldn’t live life in depravity. We cannot alter the hands of time, nor learn what amount remains. But know it shortens with each clock chime, and once used, affords us no refrains.

Pyromanic Impulses
Fire, fire, burning bright!
Fire, fire, a gorgeous sight!

Crimson red, copper, and gold
Blazing hot as the flames unfold.

I feel the heat, the rage, the power,
Burning white, a searing flower.

The fire imbues me with strength,
Gives me lust, shortens days' length.

Burn through the night and through the day
Child of the sun, rebel, betray!

Fire, fire, burning bright!
Fire, fire, a gorgeous sight!...

Summer Rispetto
Summer Rispetto

Such summer days as these are most merry bright,

and altogether they portend such good times.

Sol shortens dark nights, again extends the light,

the time is right for mountain dangerous climbs.

Relax and take your ease, maybe fly a kite,

Have fun in your way till autumn’s bell then chimes,

when we must now say goodbye and end our ease.

Sorrowfully put away the cottage keys.

Sun-Dial's Foreshadowing Time
As the day lengthens
and sun grows high,
your shadow shortens
as the day goes by,

and i think of you
in noon's repose,
and wonder where
your shadow goes.

Then there you are
on the other side,
in shadow's length
you no longer hide,

afternoon shadow
you slowly slide,
abiding once again
'til your light's revived.

One more thing I'll say
before I'm through,
I've never before met
a gnomon like you.

Wishes are never horses, making beggars be less cheerful
Increased interest to the unreachable despite being careful
Subjects, condemns and stimulates one to be less grateful
The moment shortens the stretched hands and makes nothing wonderful
Feelings fiercely negative, make the coveted powerful
Unidirectional is the attempt which feels unlawful
Loving someone who will never love back, shows life is half full...

A Spider's Life
Cobwebs lace the room's corners,
tempting unwary flies.
Spiders hang like ornaments,
tasting blood before it dries.

Many legs caress the thread,
immune to all that's sticky.
In the world of human beings,
a spider's life is icky.

Spun web is sacrificed
to a mortal's unreasoning fear.
The lifespan of a spider
shortens when a human is near.

Cocoons of unborn eggs
lay hidden in plain sight.
The turning of the seasons
renews the never ending fight....
