I don’t know
I haven’t heard
Why what she say
What’s the word
She said to you
Was it love yeah
I woulda shied
Away too

A Photograph

Blue eyes,
laughing,
 hands;
unkindly the memories pile together.
Severs of the heart shied away
kissing at their enclosure.

Doom

who are you?
take your cue
& hide. my softness
has shied away,
denied. i can't recall
when last i cried-
willingly strolled right
on past, without
trailing doom.

Premium Member Flash Cash

Her iconic smile in repose:

she shied from the camera's flash.

But Shylock's pound of flesh

               prized by paparazzi,

was paid by Princess Diana...

her bloody crash, fueled by cash.

Premium Member Half Past Summer, Two Months Till Fall

They quickly pass, the waning days more brief,
like love once shied beneath a garish moon,
expose the truths betrayed by Autumn's thief.
Infatuation always ends too soon ~
still tethered to the oak, a hopeful leaf...

Caused

Caused by the grief of loss,
Her soul wept with exhaustion!
Caused by her myriad of thoughts,
Her head hung in desperation!
Caused by the anger from within,
Her body shook with frustration!
Caused by the beast she once knew,
Her heart shied away from adoration!

Away From Trump Shied

Away From Trump Shied

Trump's belly broke loose from being wide;
Then there is no place left  for him to hide;
Dumb dufus face,
All over the place,
And lied so everyone away from him shied.

Premium Member Whispers

The moon in her fullest florescence
Drifting through the thicket
Hooked in the branches
Whispered secrets to the tree
Shied leaves bent down their heads
And the naughty wind carried away the giggles.

A Sun Kissed Cold Shoulder

closer to the sun yet blushing earth shied away so winters are cold

Premium Member An American Hero

A man of integrity
A Beacon of light,
The model of courage
That never shied from a fight.

An American Hero
With duty above all,
A lifetime well spent
Answering his country’s call.

Some called him ambitious
Others headstrong,
But one thing is clear
He knew right from wrong.

We fete his fine life
Salute him in death
And know that he fought
To his very last breath.

Override

Innocence as wanton retrospect untried
the taking of the hand, so oft denied,
that left to copious attitude is shied
of confidence in competing, such deride!

Does rob the soul of vestige since complied,
is lack of faith in character and confide.
The teaching of the will in surge of pride
accompanies adventure, seeking stride!

Restoring of new wonder, virtue's hide
is brought to light . . . not blunder's override!

Croydon Part Seven

In the memorizing firelight flicker
comes rebirth
as the valley of Crocus flowers
becomes a corporate castle of skyscrapers
the taller the better

The middle of Croydon
once of offices
has seen it possibilities light up
like a condensed can of milk
The ill afforded indigenous
are shied away from rent
replaced by a smart set of commuters
with a whiff of disdain
for the ailing amenities of Croydon
The guilt of the urban class

Premium Member An Enormous Wall Around Her Feelings

She acted tough.
Called herself spider.
Built an enormous wall.
Around her feelings.

She scared newcomers.
They shied away like crazy.
Afraid of her bark.
Not knowing there was no bite.

She used a gruff voice.
Laughed at her whimsy.
Smiled at their fear.
Knowing they were in no danger.

In actuality, she was such a pushover,
This was her only way to say no
When she used to always say “yes”.
Pushovers often have to do this.

Say Please When Asking Trump

Say Please When Asking Trump

To ask Trump for something must say please;
And of course him you always have to appease;
Was  Trumpified;
Away from shied;
He will increase each tarrif while prices freeze.

Jim Horn

Freezing prices was done under the Republicans.
Under Nixon is when it was the most popular.

Until I Close My Eyes

In the lap of dawn, as I slept in the melody of the cool breeze,
The countryside started to whistle as she stepped on those petals.
The most elegant figure that shines along with the sun-rays,
Her smile shied the butterflies away; her single glance took the by-passers breath away.

She sang and danced to the melody of the wind,
That fragment of my imagination blew away as I closed my eyes.
I left a sigh and walked past her, hoping to see her again someday.

Premium Member Knight Was Unsure

Knight did not know whether or not this was a good move.
He had made friends with a dragon that knew how to groove.
Christmas was coming, and he had brought him a surprise gift.
He might think this is lame, silly, it might not seem swift.

Dragon named Cool had a surprise of his own that very day.
He had ordered a shied for his friend, from far far away.
It had a dragon on it, and it was made of copper and tin.
They showed each other their presents, for each a big win.

Love Without Hope

Years have drifted by as I live by your memories to garner
Silently I quivered for your love, but shied to whisper
You lived in tumultuous ignorance of my passions dearer
The heedless winds blissfully enveloped you, leaving me lonelier
