An Enormous Wall Around Her Feelings

She acted tough. Called herself spider. Built an enormous wall. Around her feelings. She scared newcomers. They shied away like crazy. Afraid of her bark. Not knowing there was no bite. She used a gruff voice. Laughed at her whimsy. Smiled at their fear. Knowing they were in no danger. In actuality, she was such a pushover, This was her only way to say no When she used to always say “yes”. Pushovers often have to do this.
