My Fight

My fight is not about fists and kicks
My fight is about absorbing pain and defeat
My fight is not about climbing the highest peaks
My fight is about self-realization overcoming self-deceit

To a Man,Blinded By Himself

To he that to himself and another be false I say,
Undo your heart and for your soul seek a new way.
Many who from this cup of self-deceit merrily drink,
I,of what comes upon themselves fear to think.

Open Your Eyes

Image of people covers years of existence

what lies beneath is their story

people judge by image

looking at what hides the truth

unable to take what's under the covers

we fall in others masks of self deceit

gain your sixth sense and truly see

Trick Or

I use make-believe
overwriting memory
to bring me some peace

The fiction I’ve weaved
you’re at the store - you wouldn’t leave
is a fool’s relief

So I take mine neat
sweet opiate of self-deceit
my strange trick or treat

Sea Change

Its quest is over.
Life's. Wholesome-faced.
At this drop off point, a world's
Sea-washed. Effaced.

Shackled by which search, a slave's
Profitless, for coin
Proved it, toward more and more
Becoming joy-rich
Now breathing freer, will ditch
What for too long chafed
Of self deceit, to the winds.
Sharpest thought-cleansing

The Words, His World

He used
to seek solace,
in the turbulence
found within
his own
distraught soul.

With
those words,
it brought him
close to
the brim of
yet another low.

In a state
of denial and
self-deceit,
where
peace
could be found.

And where
the lies
glorified truth,
the pain
satisfied
the fears.

But soon
he realized,
that a poet
fails to exist
in
his world.

As his mind
is an utopia,
and his words
conceal
the
hidden tears.

Fools in the Dark

Brush against my shoulder.
Gently, gently,
friend
or curtain in the wind.
Light a candle,
I’m not looking.
And when all the lights have dimmed:
come comb through the thicket of my armpits,
string the pearly, sweaty beads
on a necklace,
moonlit, shining,
showing me my self-deceit.

Hanging from the lintel’s lip,
I will catch the morning sun.
But for now, brush,
gently, gently
and call me dear foolish one.

Bury Not Your Hopes In the Garden of Self-Deceit

Bury not your hopes in the garden of Self-Deceit,
Hoping they will come up blooms –
They will not,
And you will be the worse for it
But try all the same
To Love!
To Love, to Love, To Love, To Love!

For there are better things
Than being sour and sorrowful.

These three things understand,
That if Faith be lost, Then
There is Still Hope,
And if Hope be lost, Then
There is Still Charity

“And the greatest of these,
Is Charity!”

Formula of Life

Adding all the fractions in my head,
Multiplying wonder by regret,
Cheating on my dreams as they arrive,
I have got my formula of life.

I have messed the figures up a bit,
Searching for the truth in self-deceit,
Slightly unaware what they meant;
If they still don't match, it's not the end!

While capricious fortune is astray,
I will make the best of new today.
Think you hold the key to reach my heart?
I have changed the lock, it's just that smart.

Social-Hallucination

Tick tock,
No time for her son,
‘On Tiktok bleeping her cleavages to strange men,
Social media hallucination,
living a lie,
Here, everything is perfect,
The sky is blue, it never rains,
Everyone is rich & poverty is slang on the lips of black men,
Here, love is beautiful;
Till breakfast is served in court,
We lie too much,
Like politicians, our tongues are twisted,
Curled, tangled, braided in self-deceit,
Sometimes God doubts he created us,
We lie too much.

Prime

Dead thoughts
Rotting flesh
Create living cages
creatures paraded on stages
Go to church, pay bills, working; a living fraud
Self-awareness begets Self-deceit a reflection
A mirror unfairness - mirror of defeat
The human condition kills
Historical shame
Worn out name
Myself.
To Maraud.
Go head for the hills
plethora of opponents
endless bombardment infinite myriad
Propaganda - now buying the ******** leaders sell
Just another component in the universal machine called god
