Behind friendly smile and bright eyes are scars
left by raw pain and sorrow
Heart broken when love died
Seren Roberts
each of us have scars that we keep within
with courage we can let go ...
and with strength we can heal
I met you yesterday
And gave my time to you
And what you did in return
Is leave a scar on me
And the sad part
I am used to it.
My Scars
Haiku by Miracle Man

My scars tell stories,
stories I never enjoy,
but I rehear them.
Silent flames,
scars speak through the night,
broken breath,
wild and torn—
rain and snake coil wounds unseen,
I bleed to heal me
You can't always inter a scar,
If the affair that induced its being;
Is a clock haunting from afar,
And from its memory you're fleeing.
silent wounds turn stubborn into strength,
over broken earth, courage takes slow root,
under each scar, light relearns the language of living.
we did our best
to let these
angry scars of
war confess but
death shall not
let you rest
because we wear
these clothes of death
I have tried to dance
pulled upon a moving train
a cork for a flood
each paper cut a new scar
far too deep to free my heart.

Please, I beg
Leave, at once
His eyes froze me
As his words cut
Me deep
Leaving scars
On my skin
Save me
We can create miracles
He whispers
The scars that tattoo my soul,
were etched by the promises I didn't keep,
all the dreams I put to sleep,
and the emotions I failed to control.
Form:
I loved you the best I could,
Your scars were so deep and so old,
I could not see them and you could remember,
I love you,
This time love was not enough.
bruises scars and stretch marks
the sum total of diverse past experiences

Sentimental scars
Hurt so much more
Than these physical blemishes
I’d rather bleed briefly
And heal with a scratch
Than bleed forever
And never be repaired
Form:
no more hurting, no
too many knives have hit home
scars on the heart weep
past now sleeps, tomorrow lives
my future smiles, she sure does
.
I fear light of dark
Fear a lonely night
Filled with emptiness
Sleeps looms miles away
Ghosts of rejection lie next,
I feel it’s cold fingers;
Oh! cold ecstasy

I touched a shadow and called it a flame,
It smiled — but was the same.
My scars whispered his name.
Love left, but I still came.
Bridging gaps,
Covering cracks,
Keeping short accounts-
With Him your guide
Stand aside--let trust be tried;
Regardless of your view,
Our relationships can renew.
Scars
The pain
Traced in flesh
Permanent strife
An everlasting memory of hurt
They adorn my body like dead skin cells
Never fading
They stay there
Always
Scars
Wonder like a fool,
every turn pierced me hard.
Move on with the old wound,
with the beautiful new scars.
See through life is beautiful,
but never love it before.
If you have not gotten to know my soul.
Then you know nothing of my scars & my soul.
So save the egotistical compliments to take my blindfolds off.
They will not work.
Awakening burning scars
in my sternum begin
invading secret strongholds
buried inside my conscience
Struggling and fighting
restless consuming times
to win resolutions
The scars of abuse run so deep,
most of my life they defined me.
I wore a shield, that folk couldn't see
held my pain close, was mine to keep.
Today I'm free; no longer weep.
A book of scars
tells the tale of a lively past;
A book of scars
falling off of my handlebars
opens leaving me an outcast;
Still, I am who I am if asked;
A book of scars.
As I watched numbers on cars,
I couldn't count my scars.
Yet they remained as stars,
On my skin.
They are my witness marks,
That I've struggled and to,
Feel stronger once again.
