Wild Beauty
The beach is a treasure
of wild beauty
where the tune
and movements of the ocean
embodies the same energy
as the beautiful sunrise on the coast
and the sandbar on the deck...

Rose of Sharon
Sharon has a rose
Red as red untold
Wreathed within her locks
Of sandbar and gold
Cradled behind her ear
And left to her face
Crowning her temple
Full-blown in that vase
Flowered like her eyes
Fragrant in her nose
As moist as her lips
Her cheeks red as that rose...

Sos
SOS I’m crying out
Can you hear me in the silence?
SOS I’m crying out
I can’t stand up to all this violence
‘Cause I washed upon a sandbar
Destination close and yet so far
I need a little help now
To get this ship back up to par
SOS I’m crying out
Will anybody save my lost soul?
SOS I’m crying out
In this harsh and cruel world, I’ve taken a toll...

I Am There In the Tides of Time
Of late I feel like a sandbar,
in the proverbial river of life.
Pushed and pulled by the flow,
reshaped by friction and strife.
No real place I feel at home.
Not really anchored , yet not adrift.
No adornment and no beauty,
Get close and you'll find I've got grit.
Somtimes I rise above life to stand,
catching some folks unaware.
I'm usually just below the surface,
over run by life and dispair....

The Beach - Two Lenses
As kids, we were brought to the beach
at riverfront...sea out of reach.
Our sand was like mud;
neath water, silt crud.
I'd wallow with fun, laugh, and screech!
Now grown, to the seashore I go
where sand is as white as the snow.
I don't go out far
beyond the sandbar
for fear of the silt down below!

Sandbar
I dwell on this sandbar.
Between the shallows and the deep.
So free and yet so oppressed.
But during the rarest of moments
I truly know that I am blessed.
Do I make for the mainland.
Facing riptides of salt and teeth.
Or wade through sharpened coral hearts.
onto that cay of stagnant familiarity.
I tend to teeter toward the shallow.
but there are pools so blue -so deep.
So why do I ride this burning sandbar?
It's out of fear I tend to think....

Hang Ten Trimeric
It’s a wild ocean filled with sharks,
that’s exactly why I love it;
Risky waves may swallow you whole,
they could lead to a mellow sandbar;
That’s exactly why I love it;
Filled with so much improvisation,
each tide unique washing over me;
Risky waves may swallow you whole
you’re reduced to blood in the water;
Dive deep you could become prey;
They could lead to a mellow sandbar
filled with the softest of shallows;
Just hang ten, the surf’s got you....

Other
Phases
the moon moves through its phases
nonchalant and slow
each one pulls upon me
like the tide washing on my shore
when I think the cleanse has come
from the salty brine
the crescent comes and shines its face
with the memories that remind
laying on the sandy beach
starring at the stars
wondering how I landed here
my heart stuck on a sandbar
the bottle that I corked and threw
into this vast green sea
drifts out for a little while
then always returns to me...
